He'll never admit how he ached to press himself against his broad chest, where that soft, warm heart of his laid. How he wants to hear his pulse and the way it shakes.
He'll never admit how handsome he thinks Ratio is. The dark, wavy locks...the dawn colored eyes...the sharp angles of his face.
He'll never admit that he loves Ratio.
Aventurine tells himself he won't fall in love. He falls into Dr. Ratio's arms, anyway.

Summary
Aventurine couldn't help but feel a bit ridiculous. There he was, standing outside the door of the man he had practically raced to see and, yet, when confronted with the act of announcing his presence he was suddenly struggling. His eyes slid down to his hand, noting the way his fingers trembled slightly, and felt his lips curve in a rueful smile. It made sense, he supposed, after everything, but he hated that it was still difficult to have faith, to trust. Were it any other situation with any other person he wouldn't have faltered, not with the odds so heavily stacked in his favor. However the truth was that his unease was linked directly to the fact that, somehow, he'd allowed Veritas to become important.
Reeling from the whirlwind of emotions caused by Penacony, both romantic and not, Aventurine finds himself on Dr. Ratio's doorstep, yearning for something he's not sure he deserves.

Fantasy AU. Sovereign Yinyue-jun and his Tiger Therian Consorts Yingxing & Ren (It’s Complicated).
A loud thump on the rooftop abruptly silences the discussion. When a massive black tiger drops in through the window, landing lightly on its paws, Elder Yiming gives a mortifying shriek and both advisors stumble back.
The guards rush in, weapons at the ready. “Your Highness!” “That’s—!”
“Stand down!” Dan Feng barks at them. Ignoring the collective heart attack his staff appear to be having, he goes to meet the tiger trotting up to him. “Ren?”
Ren nudges his huge head into Dan Feng’s chest, sending him back a step. There is a slightly concerning thump—did Yiming faint?
Dan Feng ignores it, frowning at the blood matting the beautiful fur. Grabbing Ren’s furry face, he looks into red-gold eyes. “Are you unable to turn back?”
As promised ;) *However, belatedly realized the RenXing is mostly in the main work (unpostable). This is mostly FengRen/RenFeng and some FengXing/XingFeng, RenXing is bkgd/implied 😭

Valentine's Day, the holiday of love and couples galore is usually a lonely day for Aventurine. To add onto the loneliness, he watches on of Ratio's assistants hang all over the doctor after a meeting. Confronting the man with jealousy brewing inside Aventurine wasn't the best idea, though through their short exchange (and probably due to his divine luck) Aventurine somehow lands a date with the esteemed Dr. Veritas Ratio.
