Even so much later, he overwhelmed too easily; better to think of other things. He paid, instead, very close attention to a droplet on the point of overtaking another one on its passage down the window.
Quite unexpectedly, his terminal - abandoned on the desk on the other side of the room - began to buzz with the green light of an incoming call. He considered not answering it, and then with an inward sigh acknowledged that anybody calling at three in the morning probably had a reason, and fumbled his way through the menus to pick up the call from his omni-tool. "Shepard."
"Oh, thank the spirits," said the Primarch's adjutant, with audible relief. "I need Garrus, urgently; have you got him?"

Ellana returns to the shrine again and again, summoning Fen’Harel to teach her more, but time works differently on the other side of the eluvian; centuries pass for him while only weeks go by for her. As she grows to know him as Solas, she discovers that the Creators are not the benevolent deities she believed them to be, and that the Dread Wolf is a man she can love.
What comfort can a mere Dalish mage offer a rebel god? More than either of them ever expected.

He gives her a onceover. Well, he supposes tonight will be different, after all.
“Tali didn’t mention I would be a human, huh?” she goes on.
“She did leave that part out, yes. Why? Did you know I would be a turian?”
“Of course.” She rocks back on her heels. “If you’re uncomfortable with this, we can call it a night right now. When Tali asks how it went, I’ll vouch for you and tell her we just didn’t click. I won’t be offended or anything.”
He hums with dual tones. “Why did you agree to be set up with a turian?”

AKA, AU where garrus and shep are set on a blind date and end up really hitting it off. turns out they're also working in the same profession, although that's not discussed until the day they realise for the same company. how they find out is...not necessarily planned, but they're not complaining about the new experience

No. Garrus Is not talking with her about this. He won’t divulge any information. Refuses. Especially not about the loss of memory. He doesn’t need anyone trying to use that against Shepard. Not that he plans on letting just anyone anywhere near her.
Except that might not be his choice for much longer.
Bray’s omni-tool finally lights up. “We’re good to go.”

AKA, a timeline of the events from "a memory is nothing more than a stepping stone" but from garrus' POV instead. some moments overlap, but for the most part this fills in the breaks and moments in between. experience garrus' side and feelings from dealing with shep having no memory of him or their relationship.

He wasn’t on her last mission; she’d needed him to stay behind. He had no idea what happened, though Wrex had said it was a success. She’d seemed off ever since though; quiet and twitchy, shrinking in on herself when she thought no one was looking. She sat at a console, her hand absently clawing up the nape of her neck and she closed her eyes, relaxing a tiny bit, but still clearly shaken.
He was struck by his strong desire to help calm her, but wasn’t sure what she needed.
