    “I am here to donate to this charity as a stand-in for my parents.”

    During Kidnapping #1
    “Drakes don’t pay ransom money. I can pay you if you if you work for me tho.”

    During Kidnapping #2
    “They might be somewhere without mobile signal. Sorry.”

    At school, with teachers
    “They are traveling. Here is their email address, it’s better than calling them.”

    Bruce
    “Are your parents still coming back to Gotham tomorrow? I would like to see them.”

    Tim
    “Oh, they arrived yesterday and got on a plane this morning to visit the next digging site.”

    Bruce
    “Hmmm.”

    The truth is, Tim has masterfully managed to fool everyone.

    Tim’s parents have been dead since Tim was eight years old.

    Or: Tim covers his parents death to keep out of the foster system. Being faced with the dead of love ones at age 8 shapes Tims view on life , death and grief.

    Robin is gone and Batman is starting to fall apart.

    Tim Drake decides that since no one else is going to fix Gotham, he will have to do it himself.

    If Batman is spiralling without Robin, then Tim will become Robin.

    If Nightwing resents Bruce for taking on another sidekick, then Tim will need to prove him wrong by creating a new identity and becoming Nightwing’s sidekick too.

    And if a new crime lord holds a grudge against Robin, then Tim will simply become someone else, earn his trust, and find out what he's planning.

    It's brilliant, in theory. All he has to do is deceive arguably the best detectives on the planet whilst somehow being in multiple places at once without anyone connecting the dots.

     

    OR: Tim Drake creates multiple vigilante identities and lies to everyone he knows, whilst desperately trying not to get caught as himself.
