When Bilbo fell, he thought the breath he took was his last. He fell, and he begged Yavanna to keep his dwarves safe, even if they were in her husband's domain and not hers.
He knew that none of his dwarves had noticed his fall, at least not yet, for they would have shouted, or at least the ones that he got along with would have. Part of him felt that the King would not care so much if their halfling fell.

“Do not make me lie to you, Midoriya Izuku.”
“Right. Sorry. Bad start,” Midoriya squeaked. Shouta could almost see the kid on the other end of the line, probably vibrating with enough nervous energy to power a small city. “Seriously, this whole t-thing was—uh, everybody’s okay. Physically! Everyone is fine. Uh—well. The property damage is... mostly covered by insurance? Probably?”
Shouta closed his eyes and leaned his head against the headboard with a dull, rhythmic thud. “Property damage. At one in the morning. On your break.”
“Just a bit?”
“What happened?” Shouta drew out the words, each syllable dripping with a bone-deep exhaustion.
“I—” A long pause followed, then a whisper so thin it barely carried through the speaker. “I got into a fight.”
“Where?”
The silence on the other end was deafening.
“Midoriya Izuku,” Shouta warned, using the kid's full name again, his voice dropping into that low, dangerous territory that usually made students scramble for cover.
“A bar,” Midoriya finally whispered.

Aizawa Shouta receives a call from a police station at 1:00 AM.

This is a purely self-indulgent canon rewrite of basically what I wish would have happened. For the most part it will follow canon if Jake were a little less of a skxawng.
Jake Sully had never felt less in control of his life than when he arrived on Pandora. Everything that had led him to this point was just some terrible blur and he was so *tired* of horrible things happening. Somehow, by some boon from the universe, he finds light again in a community of blue cat aliens. But fortunately Jake Sully has always been good at rolling with the punches and he will do anything to keep his slice of found peace safe.- Language:
