Coil stopped, realizing two things in that moment. One, he maybe, just possibly has a crush on Shuriken… and two— Slingshot was going to try and kill him.
Coil groaned, throwing his head back against the cushions behind him. He was so fucking screwed. It wasn’t even funny anymore!
“Uhh— hey, it’s okay dude! Uhh… maybe you don’t? I mean, how could you have a crush on the guy when you’ve only talked to him once or twice or—”
“Skate, he gave me his scarf once and I keep thinking about his scent.”

A hero would risk everything to do the right thing. Shuriken is trying his best, he really is! But man is it difficult... Juggling all of these things while pretending to be normal. Sure, it was lonely, but... that was just life.
Then something changed. It was like everything was slipping like sand between his fingers, like his rope had slipped from his grip and he was falling down into the void. No one to catch him, no one to comfort him, no one next to him other than himself.
Light was above his head, oh, how he wished he was close to that light again. Perhaps in a field of flowers his sister had planted, enjoying the sweets his brother had made, and even savoring the tea of his older neighbor.
But... heroes don't have that spare time. Not even time to sleep.
But after everything, it's still you... right?
Looking into the mirror, the young inphernal wasn't sure if he could say that anymore.
Okay, I got inspired by Shuri redesign and wondered to myself. What happened? Like... It looks like such a huge personality change, so, This is my imagining of what happened between that time and after.

“Listen, I don’t want any trouble.” The green-horned inphernal sounds scared, but not surprised.
“Hand over your wallet, kid, and there won’t be any.” The inphernal with the flintlock jabs their weapon aggressively, making the other one flinch.
“Okay–” They sigh as they start to rummage through their pockets. The Silver Shadow is almost close enough to backstab the flintlock inphernal. “Okay, let me get it.” Shuriken winces behind his mask. They sound like they’re on the verge of tears. Just a little closer…
The inphernal brings their wallet out from their pocket. Flintlock Guy reaches out to take it, but that’s as far as they get before the Silver Shadow is sinking a kunai knife into their back.

After suddenly waking up in the middle of the night, the first thing Slingshot noticed was how quiet it was. While normally, it would be quiet since everyone was supposed to be asleep, his roommate, Shuriken, was a bit of a loud snorer.
That was the understatement of the year. Shuriken snored hecka loud. He always had to sleep after Sling and Vinestaff, otherwise, neither of them would be able to sleep at all.
Slingshot slid out of bed and tiptoed before Shuriken's room, easing the door open.
No one was there.
Absolutely no one.
He checked the rest of the apartment, unease curling tighter with every empty room. Surely Shuriken didn’t decide to leave in the middle of the night, right?

To the dismay of some of the inhabitants of the Regretevator, some of the regulars just… up and vanished. Usually that’s not too bad, but it was much too long of a disappearance to be normal. Not even to mention the mood lightening greatly for an unknown reason.
Then a bunch of new guys showed up, like it was normal for people to just disappear and new ones to appear.
Safe to say, something happened in the Regretevator.(Or, Bive and a few others go missing one day, and in their place, some new people show up, dazed and confused.

Summary
Shuriken, due to the nature of his job, was quite proficient in hiding bruises. Did it involve some makeup that he had to steal from his sister? Yes, it did. But the Silver Shadow, vigilante of Thieves’ Den, couldn’t risk becoming plant fertilizer.
He wasn’t any sort of makeup expert (unless his arm design counted), and he’d had to search up how to hide bruises on incognito mode on his crappy laptop when he’d first become a vigilante. But now he could effectively hide his bruises without a second glance.
The issue? He was out of concealer.
And so, the Silver Shadow, the professional, the master of disguise, was going to a makeup store to find himself some concealer. (Not that boys couldn’t wear makeup. Shuriken is very supportive of everyone and how they choose to express themselves, you know. What kind of vigilante would he be?)

Summary
Brian’s role as ‘The Hooded Man’ requires him to keep a distance if it’s going to work. However around the same time it becomes glaringly obvious that it isn’t working with Brian on his own, Tim and Jay are faced with life threatening danger. He’s forced to intervene or lose some of the people left that he knows he can trust not to go on a murderous rampage.
They all need all the help they can get and after Brian proves himself to at least want them alive enough to defend them, the team up is inevitable.
Tim and Jay have their reservations. Brian keeps his identity a secret and himself at arm’s length. Even as allies, there’s an undeniable tension that comes with Brian’s presence but if they’re going to make it out alive, they’re gonna have to learn to trust one another.
It might be easier said than done but close proximity has a way of bringing walls down whether you like it or not.
(Or a Canon Divergence AU in which Tim and Jay are saved by the Hooded Man and after some discussion, team up with him; Brian realizes that he has So Many Issues that are difficult to hide when he’s not alone; and things escalate before they get better.)

Mysterion is witnessing firsthand the (short) aftermath of New Kid as he tries to deal with the horror he's just committed within Dr. Mephesto's laboratory.
Not gunna lie, this is really just putting into words how I felt as New Kid during the lab section of TFBW. At least it's mercifully short? At least a third of it is going through the dialogue/motions from the actual scene - because I didn't want it to be a whole 'nother scene - otherwise it's stuff I put in.
