Summary
What if Aloy and Beta formed a stronger relationship before the events of GEMINI?
What if the encounter with the Zeniths at GEMINI ended differently?
Where we'll end up is mostly the same... but getting there is a different story than the one you know.This fic explores a canon divergence created by exploring the 'what if' plot-bunnies rattling around in my head, and how the story might have played out from there. Starting shortly after Beta is recovered from Ninmah and running to the end of the Horizon: Forbidden West storyline.
This will also likely act as the backdrop for any Post-Burning Shores/pre-NEMESIS work I may do in the future (see 'Windows into the Past' for the start of what that might look like!)
Adjusted to an overall M-rated presentation, as I tend not to shy away from realistic adult vocabulary and canon-typical violence portrayed realistically on the page.
Planned release is to split this fic into 3-4 ~5 chapter parts, with (ideally) weekly updates.

Summary
After defeating Nemesis and the beginning of the world healing, Aloy returns to a quiet life out in the world, usually dropping by the Base and Sacred Lands to check in on everyone and her sister especially. She is thrown back into the world Elizabet tried to forget when a missing piece of her legacy literally falls from the sky. She has trouble grappling who or what they represent and it brings back bad memories for her and Beta. She learns more about Elizabet's past and it brings up bad memories of everything she's experienced and Beta's relationship with Tilda.

Donald, a not-yet physical therapist, finds his new roommate to be intriguing- quiet, anxious and somewhat of a code to crack, Donny does his absolute best to befriend him.Neither intend on it, but with a closer friendship comes much more than platonic feelings.

Summary
Miles "questionable morals" Morales needed to come up with a brilliant lie when his parents saw him with Peter. What did he come up with of course? That Peter is his uncle, specifically he's married to his Uncle Aaron. The look of shock on his parents face about finding out that Aaron was even married, much less to a man didn't help when Peter chose to go along with the lie. Now he and Aaron are caught up in a web of their own making as they continue to spin the web of a small lie that started all because Miles sucks at coming up with them.
