Summary
This was his third meeting with the Melida/Daan Delegation, and Senator Bail Antilles felt like he had more questions than when he had first met them. They were still odd, especially with the way their third member had yet to speak in a single meeting. Blue eyes trained on him in such a way he hadn’t even realized the child had been looking at him. Indeed, he probably wouldn’t have noticed a thing if his security attaché hadn’t mentioned it.
But now that it was brought to his attention, Senator Antilles couldn’t help but notice the surreptitious glances shot towards him, and every member of his staff. Most of the meetings were handled by the delegate with brown and red hair, with occasional input from the scruffier member of their party though their own eyes seemed to be tracking something unseen.
Ingress and egress points. Captain Ansorg had said, voice steady even though her eyes were sad. They’re looking for an evac route. What children needed to be so weary?
Or the Melida/Daan Civil War ends differently, leaving Obi-Wan Kenobi—now known as Ben—to try and learn what it means to rebuild a civilization with a bunch of traumatized teens.
But more than that, Ben finds a home.

Summary
A small part of his mind threw up its hands in exasperation. It was Percy’s lab in Percy’s house, and if Percy wanted to run an experiment on the effects of deadly nightshade on the appearance of a loaf of bread, in his own lab, then that was his right. It wasn’t his fault that a tiny, starving omega pup had snuck into his house and eaten his experiment.
The much larger part of his brain was screeching that he needed to find the charcoal now or the pup was going to die on his laboratory floor.

Summary
All things considered, the job seems like it might actually be legit, but Ajax is trying not to be too optimistic about it. It could just end up being a big stupid scam to get free labor out of them for a while, which wouldn’t be the worst thing, but would still suck. Or they might get killed and stripped for parts, which would be the worst thing.
