Summary
Tharkay finds it difficult, on occasion, to relinquish the habit of always controlling the image he puts forth.
Even when maintaining it is somewhat absurd.

Summary
Temeraire is dead.
Temeraire is dead, and Laurence’s reason for living along with him. He stumbles on, day by day, conscious of the concern of his friends and family, yet unable to care.
Until an unexpected letter leads Laurence to something even more unexpected still: a child.
What a Chinese orphan is doing on the streets of Edinburgh is anyone’s guess, including the orphan's. Tharkay, for his part, suspects foul play. Laurence can see all that is sensible in the man’s suspicions, yet once again he cannot bring himself to care. Not when the child reminds him so very strongly of that which he’s lost.

Summary
Laurence saw all of this clearly, for the moment seemed queerly slow, as if each instant were preserved as a painting in all its ponderous detail. The moment after, in contrast, was too quick to perceive. Laurence did not see Tharkay collapse, only saw him on the deck, crumpled.
Only a few weeks into the Allegiance's voyage to Australia, misfortune dealt Tharkay an injury which could easily have been fatal.

Summary
A mysterious ghost ship floating in the dark void of space. Incomprehensible voices echoing down the halls. Fluctuations in temperature. A sense that someone, out of sight, is watching you. Crew members growing paranoid and more violent than stress accounts for—others, compulsively drawing shapes that cannot exist. A dogmatic captain who insists nothing is wrong.
We all know how that story ends.
...Right?

In the days after Laurence moves in with Tharkay, as the summer gives way to autumn, he finds the sort of companionship that he had started to think was not meant for him. He would like to stay like this forever, so long as Tharkay will have him as he is.

Summary
The Heart and Stomach of a Dragon is a rare glimpse into the private lives of the female aviators of the British Aerial Corps. A secret kept for 219 years, the women who served with Longwings were at once the backbone of English aerial forces and ghosts hidden in the Corps' hidden coverts until Napoleon's 1807 invasion forced them into the light of public knowledge and scrutiny. For the first time, these women have been given their own voices back to tell their own fragmented stories, starting with the woman who started it all and the Three Elizabeths who changed the face of the Aerial Corps and British society forever.

Summary
In the years since the invasion of Britain, dragons have taken great strides— or wingbeats, rather— in the establishment of their rights, and Perscitia is at the forefront of the movement. She is a member of parliament with her own accomplished staff, a network which spans Europe, and an insatiable appetite for her next political battle.
But when her ongoing initiative to secure rights for dragon and human veterans both brings her into contact with someone from her old life, Perscitia finds herself unbalanced in a way she never expected to be again.

Summary
Vampires are notoriously difficult to kill. Even a stake through the heart may not necessarily succeed, if it is removed swiftly enough and the vampire is able to drink in time. For any aspiring torturers looking to produce a confession, this offers some rather creative options.
Tharkay struggles not to let go of himself.
