Summary
“Then, what is it you offer?”
The barkeep slid the requested wine up beside Astarion, and the pale stranger’s knowing smile returned. He leaned forward, closer now. When he reached past Astarion to fetch the glass, Astarion caught the otherworldly scent of his skin: earthy and herbal, but blue and scorched like the astral zephyr, as though what he had said about the planes was true. As the elf straightened, he paused for a moment, lingering at Astarion’s ear. He uttered a simple word: “Pleasure.”
Ten years after the defeat of the Absolute, Astarion haunts the streets of the Sword Coast like a ghost, alone, searching desperately for a cure to his undeath. While following the trail of a shadowy rumor, he meets a dark and mysterious man who reminds him of himself. With his fate hanging in the balance, he must decide whether to take this stranger’s hand and be led to a life new and strange. But—at what cost?

“I was so afraid I would kill you. And then that night…here.” She gestured weakly to the front workbench she’d been avoiding. “When you pinned my wrists… I thought… I thought you were still afraid I could hurt you after I showed you what I’m capable of.” A lone, hot tear fell down her cheek. “I thought you were protecting yourself from me. From what I could do.”
“I was.” His voice was hoarse, and barely audible. “Just… not the way you think.”

Summary
“Such a desperate thing,” the figure cooed, running a hand through Astarion’s blood-matted curls. It reminded Astarion of something a parent might do to comfort their child, but all his mind could focus on was his life slowly slipping away and the figure yet to do anything about it. “So quick to accept the first offer to befall you,” he tutted with a click of his tongue. “Surely you must wonder what I want, in return for this most precious of gifts.”
“Anything,” he managed to wheeze, trying to keep his eyes open as his vision swam dangerously. “Please—anything.”
The figure laughed, tossing his head back in an open-mouthed cackle that sent a shiver down Astarion’s spine. “Anything? You sweet, generous, ignorant fool. No, my child, I will take everything.”
A callous ruling leaves Astarion at the hands of slighted Gur and the teeth of a malevolent vampire, sealing his fate for the next two hundred years.

Summary
Nearly two centuries before a mind flayer parasite bound them together, Astarion Ancunín and Eleni Agdalla collided over a stolen library book. He was a brilliant young magistrate, heir to a powerful house. She was the daughter of another, trained from birth to be the perfect bride, a role she quietly resented. Neither of them were seeking connection, but fate had other plans.
What began as a reluctant friendship became something deeper. Two young elves, fumbling through their first brush with affection beneath the suffocating weight of duty and expectation. But before that fragile bond could become anything more, politics and betrayal tore them apart.
Two hundred years later, their paths cross again. Astarion no longer remembers the girl who once stole his book and his heart. Eleni remembers everything.
This is the story of what came before. Of love left unsaid, of threads never truly severed. A tale of missed chances, fractured memories, and a bond that survives even death.

Summary
It's been half a year since Astarion returned to Baldur's Gate with his rediscovered love, Jen, Tav in her next life. Nevermind the fact that he had to make a deal with Baba Yaga and travel to an entirely different plane of existence called "Texas" to find her and fall in love with each other all over again. That's history now! He has his little mud mephit back, and they're just as happy as they can be at their estate in Baldur's Gate.
True, Jen may be struggling to learn magic. But he's certain she'll get there. She is an elf, after all. Or was. Anyway, bodies are changeable things, so he's certain her human form is temporary.
Jen, however, is less certain and feels more and more like an alien as days turn to weeks turn to months. She's no closer to learning where she fits in this wildly different new world. Her chronic conditions aren't getting any better, she can't seem to pick up magic, she's trapped away from everything she used to love, and she can't help but feel like it's all going to destroy the happiness she and Astarion found together before she left her life behind to be a part of his.
