Summary
“Come on.” Mike clasped his hands behind Will’s head, pulling him ever so minutely closer. It was dangerously exhilarating, as was the spark Mike could swear flashed through Will’s eyes. “You had fun last time, didn’t you?
Will raised his eyebrows. “You mean the Snow Ball where I danced with a girl I’d never spoken to who, in case you forgot, called me Zombie Boy when she asked me.”
“That was like two songs. Are you seriously saying you didn’t have fun at all that night?”
“No, of course not, but—” Will scoffed, that characteristic soft smile on his face. “We could’ve had basically the same night if we’d just stayed home.” He caught himself, and amended, “I could have.”
-
Or, Mike asks Will to dance, as he has done so many times before.

Summary
“I thought I said I wanted to be alone.”
“Yeah, well, life’s not all about you, bitch.” Dennis presses past Dee into her apartment. She lets it happen without protest, too tired to fight.
Dee follows Dennis into her living room and whistles softly at the size of the bottle he sets down on the coffee table. “Looking to get drunk?”
Dennis shoots her a glare over his shoulder. “What does it look like?”
-
Or, sometimes you need to get incredibly drunk with your twin to process your dad's death fake-out.

“Hey Abby, you didn’t use your real name when talking to this guy, did you?” Dennis asked.
Abby frowned at him, offended he would even suggest such a thing. “Of course not, do you think I’m an amateur? No, I told him my name is Pepper.”
“Pepper, huh?” Dennis said, a grin forming on his lips. He looked at Mac, who was already smirking right back at him. Sweet, sour, spice. “You fit right in.”

Or, the girl from the waterpark, the one who totally didn't get one over on Dennis, needs fake parents for a scam, and Hugh Honey and Vic Vinegar are the right guys for the job.

Summary
“Okay, I know we kind of all had an unspoken rule not to talk about it, but…”
“Buck and Eddie are being weird as hell?” Chim asked, sucking in a breath like he'd been holding back from letting the same thought out for far too long.
“Yes!” Hen hissed, relieved that she wasn't the only to see the weirdness in the room. “Now, look, they're my friends and so obviously I want them to be happy, but it's also just throwing the team vibe way off.”
Bobby took a long, tired breath. “Okay. So what did you have in mind?”
Several things, as it turned out. Between them, they managed to come up with the very vague outline of a plan. Or a few plans, really, depending on how many failed.

Summary
Eddie, ten years younger, in this awful 2010, blinks up at him. He's still sitting slumped on the curb, and for a second Buck thinks he might tell him to fuck off, but then his eyes fall shut and there’s something — aching and painfully vulnerable in the bend of his mouth, the faint tension in his brow. “My…um, girlfriend, I guess. She’s pregnant.”
“Holy shit,” Buck says.

Summary
“It could be worse,” Buck says.
Eddie is pacing the length of the hotel room. Buck’s hotel room. The one that they shared last night, because they got married. Drunk married. In Vegas. By fucking Elvis. Jesus fucking Christ. If Eddie wasn’t so hungover he’d worry that the splitting in his head was a brain aneurysm.
“How, Buck? How could it possibly be worse?”
“We could have married strangers?”
(Or, Eddie and Buck get married, move in together, and then fall in love. In that order. Kind of.)

Summary
"Though—and I know you probably don't want to talk about it, but since you and Natalia are over with now, I've been wondering…" Maddie pauses, watches Buck make a face like he's bracing to be smacked. "What happened with Eddie?"
Buck stops wincing and just blinks at her for a second. Then he says, "What?"
"You two were dancing around it for so long, and then… what, it just didn't work out? Was the date really that bad?"
She's expecting another wince, or even for him to duck out of the conversation entirely, but instead Buck is staring at her like she's grown a second head. "Maddie. I've never been on a date with Eddie."

Or: the poker game was a date. It takes Buck a while to catch on, though.
