Summary
She sighs, but she doesn't move. It's an awful, plaintive noise, tugs your heartstrings to hear it. “Damaged goods,” she murmurs, under her breath.
“No,” you say, again, less of a word and more of a punch to your gut. “Sweetheart, you're not- you're not damaged goods, you're seventeen.” Fucking hell, you're the worst person to be dealing with this, you have no idea how to help. What to say.
(After Peeta dies in the games, the Capitol gives Katniss the Finnick treatment. The only person she has left to turn to is Haymitch. He's not ready to deal with this.)

Summary
You don't say anything, when no ink creeps up your skin like sepsis, when untruths from the books in front of you do not simmer your brain in your skull, when no unsettling chill spreads through your blood like ice. No scream escapes your mouth, because there is no pain in your arms to make it do so.
Tatterdemalion raises an eyebrow at you, concerned. “Alright, Captain?” he asks, in response to the terrible nothing that he has just seen not befall you. He does not ask any further questions. Maybe he is familiar with such absences. Maybe he knows better than to ask. You somewhat hope it is the latter.
“Delightful,” you say, with no pained grit to your voice, because nothing has happened to cause you pain. “Give me- Give me a second. Please.”

Summary
You're not sure why you'd expected things to change between Tatterdemalion and yourself, after- well. After. Not that that had even been your biggest problem - there'd been the Duchess, Max, the false-calendar, the Vulgate, bearing down on you, until-
Until they weren't. The Machine. Summer. Her confession. Her hands, and Tatterdemalion's, dancing easily across the controls.
Tatterdemalion's face, when he'd described wrenching himself away. His incandescence of will. The flash of anger behind his eyes, when she'd spat that cherry pit, the false-flatness of his voice when he'd suggested being rid of her, of the whole calendar, the way his mask had slid back into place before the pair of you had returned, cocksure and sly.
His anger is a rare thing. You almost want to see more of it.

Summary
Tatterdemalion pours you far too much brandy when you knock on the door to his cabin. It's a trait you appreciate. He watches you curiously as you drink, fingertips dancing across the tabletop, other hand gently swirling the alcohol in his glass. The air smells like lavender and tobacco smoke, and the candlelight paints him all in gold, skin and glasses and hair and-
Hm. And not his eyes, not right now.

Summary
Isolde is fairly certain that there are rules for meeting a legendary hero for the first time, even if they're unspoken ones. She's especially certain that you're not meant to call them by a defunct title, give them what sounds like a thinly-veiled innuendo, and ask to fight them all within thirty seconds.
Unfortunately, she becomes certain of this after the sentence, “Geldor, my prince, how sharp is your axe?” comes out of her mouth.
In her defence, she's seen him in action. She wants to fight him. And she really had wanted to know if the axe he carried was safe to spar with.
“Sharp,” says Geldor Ironbrow, with a quirk of the lips that might be considered a smile by the incredibly generous. “Not safe to spar with.”
Isolde grabs a blunted training axe off the rack, and tosses it towards him. “This work?”
He catches it one handed, the bastard. Isolde watches his forearm flex against the weight, and buries the reaction deep in her chest. She's meant to try and be normal. Half of her squad have actually done their hair for training today, and she's trying her best not to seem like another tongue-tied fan.

Summary
As she tries to rebuild her fractured life from the ashes, Katniss starts to question everything she thought she knew about love. Her relationship with Peeta had been a performance dictated by necessity, by survival, by what Snow had wanted the world to see. But now, with the dust settling, she starts to feel something else. Something that sneaks up on her in shared silences and sharp words, and reluctant cups of hot chocolate.
And for the first time, her heart pulls in a direction no one scripted. Not toward Peeta. Toward Haymitch. Gruff, bitter, infuriating Haymitch, who somehow knows her better than anyone, maybe even better than she knows herself.
But maybe, just maybe, he needs her, too.A post-revolution slow-burn Hayniss tale.

Summary
A monster of a man, they call you. A danger to himself and others. It would be easier to ignore, you think, if it weren't true.
"You're liable to get hurt, then, witch," you say.
"Oh, I don't think so," she replies. "I've always been good with animals."

Summary
Mo'tul Ironbreaker was a singular orc of singular taste. At least that’s what she liked to think. While her fellow green fleshed brothers and sisters preferred to empty their potent seed into the likes of elves and humans, Mo'tul preferred dwarves and halflings.
