“Please,” one soldier told Techno over dinner, “The Blood God isn’t going to help you. He doesn’t accept any of the blood sacrifices the generals leave for him, so either he doesn’t exist, or he thinks he’s too good for the likes of us. Either way, it’s best to find a different patron.”
Techno had punched him in the face for that. None of his other comrades ever brought up the Blood God again.
Well, except for one.
“You follow the Blood God?” the new kid said, staring up at Techno with unbelievably blue eyes.
“Yeah,” Techno replied, perhaps a bit gruffer than he meant to, “What’s it to you?”
“Nothing!” the new kid said, grinning wildly, “I love that guy. He gets all the ladies. Hey, we should be friends!”Or: Techno is the last devout follower of the Blood God. Tommy may or may not be said god.

Breakdown had seen enough human holiday movies to know that the most relevant ones tended to happen during the season they called Winter, in the tail end of the calendar year. Usually in the movies there was snow, but they lived in a desert so that didn’t happen here.
Then he had learned about other cultures and their holidays, and then he learned about the fact that the seasons were different on different parts of earth so for some the relevant holidays were in Summer, and then there were people who didn’t celebrate anything, and it was way too confusing so he stopped paying attention.

Even among the Autobots, Sideswipe is an odd one. He talks to the empty air of their base in a language none of them can translate. He knows things he shouldn't know about his fellow Autobots. He claims he has a twin brother that everyone's met but nobody remembers seeing (probably because he's… dead). Sometimes his optics turn gold and he seems like a completely different mech.
Ratchet thinks it's a coping mechanism, considering how a sparkling Sideswipe was found alone and abandoned in the ship he called the Ark. Most Autobots accept that explanation. Jazz still feels like he's missing something. Prowl just wishes malfunctioning doors would stop locking him in his room whenever Sideswipe says their workaholic SIC needs to rest.

He wouldn’t say he liked Optimus Prime. There was only so far he was willing to fall. But he would say, with only mild posturing, that he hated spending time around Optimus Prime the least. That out of all of them, the Prime was the most tolerable.
