Summary
THALIA GRACE is running on errands all across the country. Her grandfather is rising, and as a goddess herself, she has tasks that the half-mortals do not. Gathering the support of minor gods and nature spirits who should heed Olympus’ rule, and making note of who refuses her. To make matters worse, she hasn't heard from her best—and truly, only—friend in months. She wants a damn vacation.
ANNABETH CHASE is to her knowledge the second godling to live on Olympus. After her stunt last winter, her mother moved both of them into her temple. She's enjoying the increase in attention, and especially the contact with her immortal aunts and uncles, but she can't do anything up here. Jason is okay, but he doesn’t have any interest in quests or the mortal world. For all that it’s lovely, Olympus is another picture perfect prison. She wants out.
PERCY JACKSON misses his friends. Annabeth, a godling like him, and Thalia, an actual goddess. He's glad his mom moved down to Atlantis with his other two parents, but he still feels lonely. He’s got plenty of family, but not much in the way of friends. To make everything worse, he’s been dealing with an on-and-off again sickness that has everyone worried.

PERCY JACKSON is lonely. He hates himself for it, but despite how privileged his life under the sea is, he's the only one like him. All of his parents have warned him of the surface world, instructed him to never swim there alone. One winter he makes a trip up to New York in hopes of seeing his mortal mother before her next visit. The girl standing on the shore is not who he expected to find.

Percy Jackson, son of a long line of fishermen, is pretty much a nobody in his hometown. He brings in an average bounty day in and day out, and most would struggle to tell you anything more exceptional about him other than that he lives alone with his mother and younger sister at the cliffs on the edge of town.
Neither story is truth.

Summary
Adora, anxious to get a fresh start after the death of her parents and twin brother in a car accident, moves to the small town of Bright Moon. She’s far from happy about it and just wants to forget about her ongoing complications from the accident, graduate, and get out again.
Catra is just as desperate to get out of Bright Moon herself. Stuck in a house with an emotionally abusive mother and keeping a lot of secrets, Catra knows that the only way she’ll ever feel okay is if she gets the hell out. After a string of awkward encounters, both are perfectly fine with keeping a mutual avoidance policy in place.
But then the first body is found, and Catra and Adora are thrown together in grizzly circumstances where one thing is certain.
