Summary
The Prince, despite his best efforts, could not stop his hand from shaking as he held his sword to Merlin’s- no, not Merlin’s- pulse. The boy tried to crawl backwards a bit, away from the sharp edge, but Arthur just moved forward with him. The sword trembled with adrenaline against the sorcerer’s pale skin. Arthur couldn’t help but notice the boy’s ruddy cheeks, bright red from the cold and exertion. The snow made light dance in his tear tracks. The neckerchief that Merlin commonly wore was discarded on the snow; It must have fallen during the fight. It left his smooth neck exposed to the cold, riddled with goosebumps, and unmarred save for the blood-soaked steel, pressing in on his pulse point. Arthur could not deny that the… thing wearing Merlin’s face was beautiful.
Merlin is forced to reveal his powers during an attack. Chaos and angst ensue. I feel like most people give Arthur too much credit in magic reveals.

It's time Arthur marries, which forces him to confront ignored feelings towards a certain servant
(I imagine the story being after the last battle, so almost everything is canon, but Morgana was never evil, everyone is alive, even Uther, and magic doesn't exist. But I consider every interaction between Arthur and Merlin in the series to have happened, except the death part of course)

Summary
Two sides of the same coin.
Two halves of a whole.
Incomplete without the other.
The issue with being one half of a whole is that you will do anything to keep you other half no matter the cost. Through the canon we see the lengths that Merlin will go to so long as it keeps Arthur alive but what would the man raised by Uther Pendragon do if given the chance. Merlin sacrifices his morals for Arthur.
How far would Arthur go for love? How much will he sacrifice when he doesn't have any Morals in the first place?

This is a canon re-write where Merlin never manages to change Arthur for the better and Arthur will do whatever it takes to keep the other half of his coin at his side.Series
