“Jackie is in my apartment.”
“Huh? What are you talking about?”
“Jackie. Jackie Taylor. In my kitchen. Making actual eggs:”
“Like…fried?”
“Like whisked. In a bowl. There’s salt involved, Van.”
There was a pause. Then the dry scrape of Van’s voice: “Yeah. The Jackie that we ate and then shat out is making eggs in your kitchen, sure.”

Or, Nat copes with her trauma through journaling, a suggestion from her mandated therapy. But instead of writing about the wilderness, her thoughts spiral back to Jackie– what could have been if the crash never happened and if Jackie were still alive. It starts as harmless fiction. Healing, even. Until Jackie shows up in her apartment, alive and seemingly pulled straight from the pages Nat had been writing. Inspired by the movie, Ruby Sparks.

Summary
Rumi stood, surrounded by piles of ash that threatened to lazily float away in the wind, face scrunched up into a snarl. Her posture was hunched, wicked claws flexed, ready to sink into another body.The remaining demons hesitated as Rumi stood there looking fiercer and hungrier for blood than any of them.
What caught Mira’s eye, once she pulled away from her girlfriend's glowing irises, were the razor-sharp horns sticking out of her forehead. They framed her face in a way that had Mira’s already jelly-like legs feeling weak.
Rumi had bullied the other demons into a tense standstill, but she didn’t look anywhere near done. She simply stood. And waited. Ready to rip the throat out of whoever dared to move next.
“Wow,” Zoey said under her breath.
Mira stared with a slackened jaw. If she weren't hurting a lot right now, she’d probably be a blushing mess.
Rumi looked… Well, just like Zoey said, ‘Wow.’

Rumi grows horns and has a crisis over it. Mira and Zoey think it's one of the hottest things ever.

But if there was one thing she’d learnt from the therapy she had gone to after joining Huntrix, when she was finally able to afford it herself, it was that healing took time. A lot more than people liked to admit or wanted to wait for. “This isn’t going to go away overnight. For any of us. But we’re together, and we’ll get through this together. That much I’m certain of”.

Summary
Gwi-Ma was gone, a new Honmoon was created, and Zoey and Mira knew about her patterns. They knew about her, and they didn’t seem to hate her anymore, and there was no impending doom currently on her horizon. Which meant she would actually have to talk to the girls, and there were things that, at least for now, couldn’t be said.
Well. Shit. She kind of liked the impending doom better.

Knowing that she would die when they turned the Honmoon golden, Rumi didn’t see why she had to put Zoey and Mira through the pain of losing their omega. So she took the pills Celine gave her, and went to the appointments, and convinced the world she was a beta. She kept her distance from the alphas, even when her body called for their presence and her soul called for their love.
But now, all secrets must come to light. That is, if Rumi can learn to trust the girls she loves with her broken, tattered heart.

Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”
