Summary
eddie's not entirely sure he believes in getting help, at least not for himself. there's only so much healing to be had for a body torn apart by bullets, for a mind that's only half there, for a man who's been leaving pieces of himself behind all his life with nothing to take their place.
except, as it turns out, falling apart happens in increments, and healing does, too: it happens when you gnaw a hole in your lip trying to keep quiet only to have the words escape; when you realize that the ghost you've been seeing out of the corner of your eye is yourself; when your best friend smiles, and you allow it to take your breath away.
it happens through the smallest of things: bird feeders, and cacti, and pasta shapes.
meanwhile, the world goes on.

Summary
Soulmate AU. Will Byers has been waiting his whole life to find his soul's missing piece. When he does, it doesn't go exactly the way he'd always dreamed.
**
Will watched the other man from the corner of his eye as the professor began speaking. Mike typed steadily, only pausing to chew on his highlighter or raise his hand to answer questions, drawing attention to Will’s little corner and making Will shrink a little at the eyes turned to his general vicinity. Every time Mike spoke, his adams apple bobbed, the tenor of his voice echoed through Will’s ears like a drum and Will shivered at the sound.
Will could barely hear the professor speaking, he was too distracted by Mike’s close proximity. Jesus Christ, how was he supposed to concentrate when all he wanted to do was touch Mike, grab him and shake him and ask why the other man didn’t recognize Will? Why hadn’t he rejoiced at finding his perfect other half? Why didn’t he even look at Will like something life changing and remarkable had happened to them? Will’s face felt hot and he wanted to scream.

Summary
“Uh-huh,” Mike says faintly, and he yelps when they narrowly avoid the edge of a shining skyscraper, and his hands clutch onto Spiderman instinctively. “Oh – my fucking God, that –”
Spiderman’s fingers press a little firmly into Mike’s shirt. "Just – hang on!"
"What do you mean just hang – was that a pun," Mike sputters, clutching onto Spiderman for dear life as they swing through the city, and he can hear the superhero laugh through the racing wind in his ears, the rumble of it under Mike’s arm wrapped around his middle.
In a city of superheroes, Mike keeps running into Spiderman, much to his dismay.
On a completely different and unrelated note, Mike also attempts to woo and charm his neighbor into a date. -

Summary
“Every day for a long time now, I’ve thought about how I would die. In a desert, in a fire, in a tornado or a storm or disaster. It would always be trying to save someone else, someone who needs help. But dying in the arms of someone I love… seems like a good way to go.”
A sound like thunder beats against the ground as the deer takes off, lost in the blur of green and brown around them, and Eddie turns his head to try to watch it run away.
***
Eddie and Chris leave the desert in El Paso to move closer to Abuela in Forks, Washington. Along the way, there's Evan Buckley, with his gold eyes and intense stare. It was an unconditional and irrevocable truth that they were always going to be crashing into one another.

Summary
When the firefighter walks into Eddie's coffeeshop, Eddie immediately knows two things about him: he's not human, and he's the love of Eddie's life.
Oh, he knows a bunch of other things too, obviously. He's about thirty, a few months younger than Eddie himself. He has a scar on his throat, like he got stabbed there, and one of his legs has some metal rods in it that must have come from a bad injury. The guy doesn't know he's not human, which is a tricky thing to figure out, but Eddie's almost positive. Most of the non-humans he knows have always known they aren't people, but there are exceptions, and they tend to carry themselves differently. Ana before her first full moon as a werewolf had a very different vibe from Ana after.
The firefighter moves like he knows he doesn't belong, but not like he knows why. Like he's afraid of taking up space, afraid of being noticed.
As if Eddie is even capable of not noticing him.

Summary
Eddie’s known. He’s not an idiot, despite how many times Sophia ends a call with him saying how dumb he is. No, he knows. When his gut lurched the first time he set eyes on him in the station, sweating and chest heaving, Eddie thought for a second it was because of the scent of magic on him. “Fae, worst of the worst – beware of them, Edmundo, they’re all dangerous creatures.” His father warned him of them while growing up, but no, Eddie knew. It wasn’t caution, or fear, or hesitation that made him break out in a cold sweat and freeze on the spot. His gut swooped for an entirely different reason, and his heart rate picked up like a bird’s wing flapping. His hands itched to reach out, swoop a hand over the man’s neck to hold him and his gums ached to let his fangs down so he can claim, claim, claim, bite, bite, bite, now, yours, he’s –
His name’s Buck.
***
Eddie Diaz is a capable werewolf; he has a son to raise and a pack to take care of and that's enough. Evan Buckley is an unassuming fae, just trying to keep his head down, do his job, and get by each day. It isn't meant to mean anything when they finally meet.
Because werewolves and fae don't belong together, right?

“You’re not being very sympathetic,” Lando replies. “My roommate is a serial killer!”
Charles says, unhelpfully, “five months ago you walked into his apartment with no identification, no luggage, and the request for him not to look your name up on the internet, and he let you live with him without even asking if you served in the war. And we are surprised he is a lunatic?”
Or: Oscar kills people. Lando is legally dead. Someone wants to restart the war.
