Leo was patient, at least. His hand was open and lax as Casey slowly squeezed around it, careful not to be as bruising as he had been before. It was difficult to be gentle, and Casey seldom ever understood how exactly to be soft with his touch. Still, he brought Leo’s hand close to his chest like a stolen trophy and nearly dragged his friend halfway across the mattress alongside the motion. Leo was doing that thing where he rubbed small circles into Casey’s palm as though the contact would drag the boy back into his body. This contact was fine so long as it was small, and forever on Casey’s terms. It was fine because it was Leo’s hand and it was just the one.
Only ever the one.

Casey and Co. spend the day exploring a local festival in the Hidden City where Casey has funnel cakes for the first time, and is coaxed into putting his first real artistic mark into the world with a collective mural. Breathless and utterly elated with this brief moment of freedom, he forgets himself until the crackle of fireworks overhead brings him right back to where he started.
Except he has family at his side to bring him back from the edge.Series

"No, Miguel."
"Just need some advice." Mikey brushed him off, and blinked, thinking. Donnie, however, was one step ahead, like always.
"How about... we just all share it, one by one? No holding back."

Then again, Donnie did say he recorded everything, so maybe he shouldn't have been surprised when his younger brother pulled up the rousing speech Leo gave while Raph was still under Krang control.

But yet, as all four of them wanted nothing more than to go back... god, this was all they had ever wanted their entire lives. The sun. Open fields. And to be normal- but that would never happen.
"...We can also just stay, even for a bit longer?" Mikey offered, looking up. "The sun feels... nice."

Raphael hadn't even been aware that he had been hyperventilating until a hand on his shoulder made awareness snap back to him at once.
Through blurry vision, he made eye contact with Leo.
Fuck fuck fuck you woke him up the guy already has insomnia, great job Raph, just fucking great-
"Deep breaths, little brother." Leo spoke gently, not even asking what he was doing there. He reached out to take a hold of Raph's hands to stop him from punching air. "Deep breaths. It's okay."
Oh he knew that look.
Raph growled again and attempted to pull away- he didn't need to be treated as if he was made of glass, he was tough, he was the brawn, he- his knees buckled.
The oldest caught him before he could fall, then carefully lowered him onto the floor. "I got you." He whispered. "I got you."

After a nightmare about the eldest brother sacrificing himself wakes him up in a panic, Raph can't admit to himself that maybe, he should seek comfort before he wakes up everyone else.

Leo tilted his head. “What are you talking about?”
Casey sighed, and clenched his fists. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
The turtle felt a jolt of terror, before his rational mind kicked in. There’s no way the boy knew of his plans, or his self harm. Leo was so careful, he couldn't know.
He must be talking about something else. “I really don’t.”
The boy bit his lip, and started to tremble. Oh shit, was he about to start crying? Without any hesitation Leo jumped up, and placed his hands on Casey's shoulders. “Hey, what’s wrong? What’s going on?”
He just shakes his head. “I’m not going to watch this happen and do nothing to stop it. I’m not going to lose you again. You have 24 hours to tell your family what you’re doing, to get help, or I’ll tell them for you.”
Or-Leo doesn't want help, he doesn't want to worry his family, he just wants it all to be over. But the people who care about him aren't going to let him go that easily.
