Summary
V is adrift.
The guilt from a myriad unspoken apologies rests an immovable weight upon her shoulders. Her indulgence in escapism provides only transient relief from her inability to mend what she broke. And through it all, the longing for a simple change stays perpetually in her mind; something so minor that it doesn't justify the space it occupies in her drives.
But that change, as simple as it is, carries consequences for everyone she knows.

N has experienced amnesia countless times; he, of course, just doesn’t remember. Whenever it happens, though, V is always there to watch his mind fold in on itself, powerless to stop its effects. Faced with the task of having to rebuild over and over, a piece of V's psyche breaks down with every purge.
Eventually, she runs out of pieces.

Summary
The remnants of Copper-9 lay strewn across the snowy plains. As N walked through the rubble, he looked up longingly at the crimson sky, a soft breeze caressing his faceplate. He watched the moonlight peek through the clouds and settle on his form, breathing in the icy air.
He imagined the spotlight to be her watchful gaze, guiding him forward. He felt a sorely missed warmth build up in his core, knowing that even in her absence, she took his advice.
They'd stick together. Always.

Beneath the ice, something stirs, waiting for the Long Night of winter to set in.

Summary
After everything is finished, V reflects on how she’s acted and how she continues to act that way. She sees the splits and cracks in everyone she loves’ casings, caused by her own actions, and tries to apologize.
I am not the best at summaries, but more or less, a panicked, sad (as per usual) V attempts to fix a lot of stuff.

My fingers wade through an endless ashen river, wide and free, my leprosy yours. I found it by the 'way, alone, my self, myself, my soul, my sole, dying, festering, hungry. I reach the end, and found myself wanton. I return to the top, and wade again, and again, your endless bounty a miracle on my lips. My love, my renewal, my sea. Perhaps, if I wade a thousand more times, my curse shall leave me be.
In that moment, as she hunched to the ground, clutching her stomach in a vice, Thad didn't see a monster nor urban legend.
He couldn't help but think her growls of hunger sounded like cries of pain.

He falls from grace with the weight of an oath broken.
She agonizes over a vow demanded without ever knowing its cost.
A mask to hide the pains taken to see bond fulfilled.
The final gasps of a woman born through pledge unspoken.
She who lives in the shadow of a child taking more than she knows.
And they who bind others in covenants of stone.
In retrospect, they should have thought longer than they did.
