"There, standing in the doorway, was Steve Harrington. Dustin’s mum had a hand on Steve’s arm, pulling him further into the house so she could shut the door. Steve looked… bad. He was in an old t-shirt and some plaid pyjama bottoms. His hair was disheveled, sticking up at the side. And his eyes. His eyes were wide and frantic, dark bags hanging underneath them.
Steve looked over at him and as soon as he did, those eyes began to water. “Dust…” Was all he said before he collapsed on the floor, sobs racking his body. Claudia yelped in surprise and quickly dropped to her knees to Steve’s level, asking him what was wrong."

"Tell him-" he paused, realizing how strange it must seem to the boy; for Steve to have an article of his clothing. "I, uh-"
"He said you left it in his car," Henderson blithely continued, seemingly unperturbed that Eddie had been in Steve's car, when he had his own.
“Oh that’s weird; I didn’t even know it was missing.” He shrugged at the boy's confusion before walking off. "Shit happens, I guess."
