“No.” Tony shook his head, heart beating wild and rapid, the monitors he was hooked up to a cacophony of sound. “You might have missed it, Strange, but last time I tried to prepare the world for what was coming, half the universe died. Why me?” Why not someone else, why not Steve fucking Rogers, the man with the plan, why not Rhodey, why not Pepper, why him?
“Because you’re a scientist. A futurist. We chose you, Stark. But you have to accept.”
Tony didn’t want to.
“You’re going to regret it,” Tony said quietly. The beeping of the monitors had slowed, the panic had faded away leaving only a quiet exhaustion.
“I don’t think so.” And Strange sounded so sure.
Tony closed his eyes. He wanted to say no, wanted to let go of the weight of the world that had already crushed him. But he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t do that when Strange had used his last chance to save the world, banking on him. “Alright.” He swallowed hard, forcing himself to nod. “Okay. Send me back.”

Okay so was mid reading another time travel fic and it reminded me of a scene I desperately wanted to find, and finally found it, here!!
The scene was Shield injecting Tony while not being aware of everything he's been doing to fix himself, resulting in the problems and then Tao getting involved. Just remembered it was Tony and Stephen, thought the Tao part was involved, as well as time travel, and luckily manages to find it :)
Ohh I thought there was a think tank here too but wasn't sure (the fic I was reading also has one)Another reread, the talk of the donuts had me thinking of scenes I remembered from a fic (Donuts testing dates between Tony and Stephen) and I had the inkling it might be this fic, once Stephen mentioned the shop near the Metro General hospital I knew it's this fic indeed

Btw dis is the fic of Reality Cat and Space teleporting to Tony's head that I was searching for-
“Why is Reality a cat?” Rhodey asked after a beat, studying the cat with wisps of red energy floating off of it.“Why isn’t Reality a cat?” Tony asked seriously.
Rhodey glared at him. “They’re a bad influence on you.”
“Or am I the bad influence?”
Rhodey threw his hands up in frustration.
He couldn’t actually answer that question with any degree of certainty.
“The little shits are multiplying,” he declared.

“Are those the Infinity Stones?!” this new Stephen asked in shock.Rhodey supposed it must be pretty shocking to see Reality perched on Tony’s shoulder while Space nestled in his hair. Mind was casually floating around like some kind of wobbly halo. Or drunk eureka lightbulb.

“I’m the Blue Rock,” Space piped up. “See, I can describe myself too.”“You’re the bad influence,” Rhodey decided, looking at Tony.
He grimaced since he couldn’t really argue that.

Rhodey sighed as he stepped out of his armour. He was tired of dealing with four Tonys instead of just the one he signed up for.

For now, Tony was focused on getting the damn Space Stone out of the arc reactor.Apparently, it got drunk on the similar energy. Mind and Reality were cackling in the background as Tony carried the drunkenly singing stone to the timeout box.
Morgan was never this difficult. Wasn't the first kid supposed to be the worst?
Oh wait, that would be Peter wouldn’t it? And he did give Tony a fair amount of heart attacks. No, actually it would be Harley.
He took it all back, Harley was a little shit.

“Hey Time,” Tony greeted blandly. “Please tell me you’re more responsible than your siblings.“I ressssssent that sssstatement,” Reality huffed as it sauntered into the room.
“You are the embodiment of that statement,” Tony shot back, going back to his coffee.
“What is going on?” Wong asked, staring at Reality in shock.
“Don’t give him attention. That’s what the attention whore wants,” Tony warned him.

Reality decided that was the moment to leap into Tony's lap and pretend to be an actual cat, demanding pets. A flash of blue and a weight on his head gave away Space’s arrival while a flicker of yellow in the hallway suggested that Mind was lurking around.Wong stared at him in shock.
“Those are the Infinity Stones.”
“They’re menaces,” Tony corrected.
“Yes, they are,” Time agreed serenely.
“Shhhhut up,” Reality hissed.
“I’ve been perfectly well-behaved,” Space argued in offence.
“I’ve been a little shit and it’s been glorious,” Mind said shamelessly as it floated into the room.
Tony looked around at them and sighed. “They’re my Infinity Children,” he said, finally giving in to the inevitable.
“We’re older than you!” Mind said.
“Can I call you dad now?” Space asked.
Reality grinned, which was an odd sight on the cat. Brought to mind images of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
“Yes daddy.”
Tony shoved Reality off his lap. “You’ve always got to make things weird!”

Refers to any other Sorcerer that isn't Stephen. In theory could mayhaps apply to general magic users, but I don't think so. I'm talking about Tao (The Ancient One), Wong, any random from the order, and even Agatha as she's technically literally tied to them, in the same manner I shove the Ravangers under the Liked Guardians tag

Tony had hit a lot of lows in his life. Some very dramatic, life-changing, often deadly lows. This one wasn’t as dramatic as any of those, but it still felt very significant at the moment. Tony would be the first to acknowledge that he wasn’t any good at romance, but he understood a lot of the precursors: seduction, flirtation, interest. Or at least he’d thought he understood, he was really starting to doubt that, right about now.
Which brought him to now. This newest low.
