Ian still hadn’t opened his eyes, silently willing the earth to swallow him whole, but he could hear the bitchy inflection in Trevor’s voice and knew this would not end well for anyone standing in the kitchen.
Ian finally forced himself to open his eyes. Trevor was apparently going through a repeated series of emotions, going from anger, to shock, to hurt, back around to anger. “Who. The fuck. Is this?”
"That's Mickey," Debbie finally supplied helpfully.
Frank Gallagher has, to the joy of many in Canaryville, finally shed the mortal coil, so naturally Ian leaves his boyfriend in Milwaukee for a few weeks to help Lip get his shit together in the aftermath. What could go wrong?

Ian gets it, how can he not? They are so painfully familiar. But some time ago he figured that some people simply don’t deserve to be parents, and some kids are unlucky enough to depend on those bastards.
“C’mere,” Ian murmurs and positions them to lie down on the bed. He tightly envelops Mickey in his arms and buries his nose into raven hair. “I’m so sorry.”
