The prisoner startled, levered himself up and hissed through his teeth. “Right, that wasn’t the smartest decision I’ve made this week,” he remarked quietly. “Scar? Are you across from me?”
Shuffling in the opposite cell. “Can you do me a favor?” a second voice asked. “The next time you threaten guards, can you try to have a weapon first to strike fear into their hearts? I think you broke our hand.”
“We have another,” the man said defensively, and Scar huffed a laugh. “And anyway– oh. There’s someone else in here with me.”

Summary
Frieren’s fingers close around the flower. Pretending to not know about Himmel’s feelings was easier than confronting them head-on. She can’t imagine what may have happened to their party if he’d confessed halfway through the journey only to have Frieren turn him down. Himmel did his dance around her, and Frieren looked the other way so she wouldn’t run in the night.
Had he tried to chain her down with his love, she wouldn’t have been able to stay. And if she hadn’t stayed, the Demon King would still be reigning, with Himmel’s corpse at his feet.

With top notch coffee and questionable baked goods, the Gilded Grimoire is her pride and joy. Himmel, returning from a long war, is in search of peace, good coffee and rare books. Its a cute-meet in the making - if Frieren can be persuaded to actually sell a book.
