Shane knew it wasn’t safe, or smart, to reach out to him here. To be seen talking to him. But he couldn’t help it. He had needed to know Rozanov was okay. And despite everything, even now, Shane wanted to text him again.
He wasn’t masochistic enough to actually do it, though. He wouldn’t be able to survive the hit to his ego if he sent an emotionally transparent text to his arch-rival/something-but-not-something only to get no text back, again.
Shane turned on his phone in the darkness of the room and opened the notes app after lowering the brightness. He sighed, and shifted into a sitting position against the pillow. He didn’t simmer in his thoughts. He let his instincts take over.

It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.

Summary
The wolf beneath Shane's skin is not some committed leader, intent on controlling others. Yes, his designation fits well with his need to protect those he loves. To protect innocents. But, his alpha status is not the same caliber as Ilya Rozanov's.
In this moment, it's both good and bad news. If Ilya manages to do what his brother has tasked him with, Shane won't suffer too much in changing designations. The pride in him is attached to his accomplishments, not whether or not he can pop a knot. But on the other hand, his flexibility practically guarantees that, with enough time and effort, Ilya will succeed. They will end up permanently mated. All because Shane couldn't sleuth stealthily enough.
Or, Agent Shane Hollander gets caught, cover blown. It's up to Ilya, their confidential informant, to save him. But will the price be worth it?

The chance of reconciliation is cut short when Ilya reads the stomach-dropping headline that The Montreal Metros' Shane Hollander had been in a severe car accident on his way back after the MHL Awards after party.

Izuku, Katsuki and Shouto relationship came to an end within their third year after an intense argument that had class 3-A up and separating them from another because of how heated it was. Harsh words were thrown, mindless thoughts with anger wrapped around them circling around, all of their soulmate marks itching as the argument grew and grew like a wildfire that could not be put out.
"Maybe we aren't soulmates after all." was the last straw, and the moment they all separated and yet the moment where their soulmate marks disappeared.
It was an ending of a book for them three, closed and locked for good, no sequel, no nothing. until 8 years later, a new book seemed to open.
or when nine years later Izuku not only finds out that his two past soulmates gotten back together within the nine years but also after those nine years Izuku is really faced upon them again due to an incident which forces them to be around each other but also seems to spark a new beginning for them three.
