Mr. Coran’s eyes light up. “Well then, it seems you may have a secret admirer, Mr. Shirogane. In the language of flowers, lilac signifies the first emotions of love.”
Shiro’s cheeks bloom with heat and he’s sure he’s gone quite red with embarrassment. He clears his throat again. “That’s, ah, very interesting. I’m sure it’s merely coincidence, however. The wind was quite high last night. Perhaps it blew up here from one of the gardens.” The explanation is weak even to his own ears and the looks on Allura and Mr. Coran’s faces reinforce that.
“Perhaps,” Allura allows doubtfully. Her eyes sparkle once more. “And perhaps Mr. Kogane will be able to shed more light on the matter.” Shiro barely manages to hold back a groan, blush spreading to his entire face as his mind turns to his gardener.

Lance sputters helplessly as Keith drops his books on the desk next to him and sits down, looking shell shocked even though he’s the one who just dropped a bomb. “I...you...what?” Keith shrugs. “But, he’s like a million year old! And looks like a giant caterpillar-bird monster.
“What? No, not him.” Keith waves his hand at Professor Slav with a disgusted curve to his lips. “Him.” He points not at all surreptitiously at the tall drink of water talking to their professor with a look like he’s trying valiantly to resist his murderous thoughts but failing miserably. Lance raises his eyebrows in reluctant admiration. He’s exactly Keith’s type: tall, buff, and nerdy.

Summary
Soulmarks don’t just appear on the skin, they have to be inked by someone with the Sight. It's a very prestigious calling and one not many have the gift for. Keith is a tattoo artist who got into scamming Soulmarks as a way to get him out of his group home. He’s good at it too; he doesn’t just go around tattooing whatever he feels like. He’s a matchmaker and his matches are good, damn it. No one has a 100% success rate though, so when someone starts to get suspicious or he starts attracting too much attention, he simply picks up shop and moves on. It works for him. He's doing good work. He is!
Unfortunately, the Soulmark Enforcement Bureau does not agree.
With an agent on his trail and closing in fast, Keith really doesn't have time for things like relationships or the man at his gym who seems determined to become friends. It's getting harder and harder to remember that, however, when everything about Shiro calls to Keith like a moth to a flame.
