Jayce is slow to awaken, his senses feeling dulled and his body numb. But his mind knows something is wrong and he fights to fully waken and open his eyes. It takes a moment of hard effort, but he flutters open his eyes and is greeted by a dark room, the moonlight still streaming in the balcony windows the only light. He darts his eyes around the room and lets out a groan as he tries to move and finds that he can’t. He’s so groggy and doesn’t know what awoke him, only a vague sense of danger triggering ancient animal instincts. His eyes settle on the darkest patch of the room, over by where the bookcase and chaise are. The shadows there are deep. Jayce stares into the void and the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. He feels like he’s not alone.
Jayce has another encounter with Viktor's Hexdrones and this time Mel isn't there to save him.
