“I’m serious, you can’t. It may not be me in there, but that body–” he gestures to Shane, to his own body “–it’s married, okay?”
Shane keeps blinking at him. It’s funny how despite it being his own face, Shane’s deadpan expression shines through. “How the fuck would I explain this?”

“You are really annoying, you know that, right?” Shane huffed, but felt heat creeping back into his cheeks at the thought. “I doubt its more than two, like I said before.”
“Yes, it says in my contract ‘must annoy other teams' players at least once a game’ this is why they pay me big bucks. Also best hockey in league, but mostly to annoy. Was this not on yours?” Rozanov was running his fingers up Shane’s thighs now, and he couldn't help the way his legs fell open in silent invitation, “I think you can do more than two, with my help. Five, I think, sounds like good start.”
“Five?! Are you kidding me?” Shane scoffed. “That's not, like, even physically possible for a guy. In an hour? Good one, man.”
“Two hours then, or three. I am not kidding. Neither of us have game tomorrow and plane leaves in the afternoon, we have time.” Shane felt warm at the thought having Ilya for that long. That alone made him want to say yes. “I can show you. Make you feel good, get you to five, if you let me. Will you let me?”

He's moved in with Ilya in Ottawa and has plans lined up to be a Centaur next season. It can only go up from here right? Wrong, they say things have to get worse before they get better. How much worse though?
or... Shane and Ilya plan to reveal their engagement this summer at the cottage to their closest friends. They've got to make it through the Spring before then. A few things challenge them in new ways they didn't expect.

Between engine failures, fractured ankles, choking incidents, apartment floods, broken noses, fire alarms, and getting stuck in elevators, a reasonable person would stop writing.

Summary
It was supposed to be a joke, okay? It was supposed to be funny, and they were all supposed to get a laugh out of it. Despite all of his protests, Hayden had thought he could get Shane to see the humor in it once he gave in. Except the longer Shane decidedly didn’t find it funny, the less entertaining it became for Hayden as well.
Hayden hadn’t ever actually done a deep-dive into the whole Hollanov internet obsession. He wasn’t prepared to have the cornerstone of his worldview be destroyed by a youtube compilation video.

Ilyas eyes widened with surprise, the idea of blackmailing Shane is disgusting and Ilyas face hardens at the accusation. Hayden might actually need some answers. Ilya collects his cool enough to stop himself from punching Pike. “Him and me are best hockey players, yes?”
“Debatable” Hayden quips.

It's the last few days of this blissful two week getaway for Shane and Ilya at the cottage. They are reveling in being together before they go back to hiding this relationship and executing their long game plan.
So when Hayden and J.J. stop in to surprise Shane at his cottage for lunch on their way to an expo near Ottawa, the long game plan just got a bit shorter, and nothing quite goes to plan because this wasn't in the plan.
Or... a world where Hayden Pike and J.J. find out about Shane being gay and being with Ilya all in one day. Redemption arc for J.J. handling it just about as well as Hayden does.

Ilya's First Centaur Season:
Rip off the band-aid - Summer- immediately after Heated Rivalry, still at the first ever cottage getaway.
I Only threw this party for you - Fall - That very halloween, roughly 4 months from the cottage.
I got to hear it from your lips - Late Fall/Winter - where Ilya is jealous of Shane getting attention by other gay men now that he's out. (short flashforward scene in the end)

Summary
Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.
