Summary
In the courtyard of the Schnee Estate, Ruby and Nora help Penny realize she has a soul within her, that she’s always been more than a machine. Ruby calls Jaune over to empower Penny’s Aura with his Semblance, but he says: “I can’t just boost her Aura forever”
The eventual conclusion of this is to take Penny to the Vault where the Relic is stored, and then wish upon Ambrosius to “make a new version of her, using her exact same robot parts.”
But what if things went a different way?
Willpower is quite possibly the strongest thing at Humanity and Faunus-kind’s (peoples/persons) disposal—the tool that allowed them to survive and in some ways thrive in the presence of relentless Grimm attacks and total domination of the world by the creatures of Darkness.
Penny has Aura. Penny has a soul. Penny is a person. Penny has willpower.
It’s thanks to Jaune she realizes this, and thanks to Ruby and Nora that she realizes she’s been a person since she was first created. Penny doesn’t need to be ‘human’ to be “real”, nor be ‘real’ to be “human”. She just is, as she always has been. The miracle of Pietro’s work.

Summary
The fight with Cinder Fall in the Central Location goes another way. A Maiden falls into a fairytale and in her grief chooses to be something else. But as the saying goes "the heart never forgets." The Tarnished Maiden will remember she once had friends. She will remember she was once a protector and a guide. But she begs to be rid of the rest, and becomes something both organic and synthetic, in the end.
Thus reborn, the Tarnished Maiden wanders the Ever After, trying to put things right that go wrong.
OR, a Volume 9 Role Reversal. Penny as an Ascended Rusted Knight, Jaune as another life gone too soon. And Ruby, trying to reconcile the girl she used to know with the woman before her now.

Summary
“Ok Pen, ready?” Ruby asks, giving Penny’s hand a reassuring squeeze. Her girlfriend’s bright green eyes slide closed and she takes a deep breath. On the exhale, she lets her shoulders sink down and back.
“Yes, rosebud, I am ready,” Penny replies confidently, and Ruby’s heart flutters. But at the same time her eyes narrow somewhat. The nickname was soothing for Penny in the way it was stimulating for Ruby, and for the other girl to break it out now means she's probably feeling some amount of trepidation. Ruby’s other hand comes to rest on top of Penny’s, and the ginger-haired woman turns her head to gaze into Ruby’s silver eyes.
“It’ll be okay, bug," Ruby says, giving Penny's hand a squeeze. "If you don’t like it, you can say so and no one will force you to try again. But…I think you’re really gonna like it. Even if I don’t.”

Summary
This series is striving to be as accurate to canon as possible, it's just a continuation of canon into the Vacuo Arc. So Jaune is alive and was the Rusted Knight, Penny was made human and sacrificed herself, Winter Schnee is the Winter Maiden, etc.
I expect it to be mostly Ruby Rose-centric but I am planning to incorporate the first RWBY fic I ever started writing into this series, and that was a fic exploring Jaune's mental state after being alone for 20 years, and how he might struggle to reconnect with his old team.
And then whatever else I want to write that takes place after the events of Volume 9.

Powder: she ran away from the warehouse fire (and never confronted Vi), shaken by what she saw in the seconds before her bomb exploded. Disappeared for weeks, then months, and then years. Whispers say she went Topside, others say she fell down a well. For 7 years she was simply *gone* from the Undercity, until she turned up just a few weeks before Progress Day.

Summary
There is a red-eyed specter in Vale. It cannot really be called a ghost, as it is perfectly tangible and made of very real metal. It is more like a marionette, obeying the directives of whoever pulls its strings.
But to Winter Schnee, it can only ever be a ghost, because she looks at the malevolent force wearing Penny Polendina’s face and she is more haunted than she has ever been.
Ruby Rose also finds herself haunted by bright orange hair and red eyes, but in a different way. She keeps seeing flickers of green eyes and can’t stop thinking, there’s a person in there and she needs our help.

Summary
Saphron Cotta-Arc stands in front of a mural, looking up at her baby brother’s smiling face. It’s not the first time. It won’t be the last. A big sister grieving her baby brother and feeling not an insignificant amount of guilt about her role in his death.
The paint is cracking from the desert heat and sun-faded in places. But her brother’s eyes still catch the light. That stubborn Arc blue that never quite learned to give up. His hair is shorter than it was when he visited. He looks older. He looks like their father.
"Hey, baby bro." The mural doesn’t answer, of course. It never does. It never will.

After her relationship with Penny had grown and strengthened over so much time, Ruby at last realizes that her feelings for her girlfriend go further than she ever thought they could. The problem: She has no idea what to do about these new desires. How does she even tell Penny? What would Penny think?
Spoiler alert: Things go far better than Ruby could have ever hoped.
Nothing Bad Ever Happened Ever AU, they’ve been together for a long while, maybe it’s their 3rd or 4th year at Beacon, oh and Penny is a Beacon student now because fuck Atlas rights :3 And they’re both trans, of course. Come get y'all's wholesome Nuts and Dolts smut here!
Part 3 is the conclusion for now, though I may pick back up and continue it some time in the future!

Summary
Ruby Rose is the manager of the most popular coffeeshop in Vale. She knows almost everyone in the city, so when a girl from out of town rolls in, she's intrigued. Ruby's friends keep ending up in relationships, while Ruby has been single since high school. It doesn't really bother her, but she's been searching for a lover, someone to share dinner with, to warm the bed for, to stargaze with.
And maybe, Ruby thinks, just maybe, that this new girl could be her new lady.
