Summary
A prince, a guardsman, a garden.
When a curse is placed upon Prince James which says he is to be the instrument of his kingdom’s destruction, it’s decided that for his own good (and everyone else’s) he should be sent away from the royal city and the palace. Bucky goes into his exile with only a single solitary guardsman for both company and protection.
Steve doesn’t know what to make of his new assignment—it could be a promotion or a punishment in equal measure. Personal guard to one of the royal family is an honor, but now he’s locked in a walled garden, uncertain of just who it is he’s been tasked to protect. Yet Prince James seems set on surprising him from the start.

Summary
In the modern world, where the creatures of myth live side-by-secret-side with mundane humanity, Steve Rogers is one of the gifted humans who straddles the line between mythfolk and mundane, and he's never told anyone about the day he healed a dragon.
Living in the city in human form, Bucky's managed to shed most of dragon-kind's more unpleasant tendencies, but he's never quite managed to shake the tendency to get attached, especially not when it comes to the healer who saved his life.
When healers start going missing, Bucky will do anything to make sure Steve isn't one of them, something that would be a hell of a lot easier if Steve could stand the sight of him. Of course, Steve might feel differently if he knew Bucky was the dragon he'd saved all those years ago.

Seven years into an isolated retirement after the Battle of New York, Steve has carved out a place for himself in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. He has a best friend (his dog, Lady), a frenemy (a local black bear named Rufus), and a cabin in the middle of the woods, an hour's drive from the nearest town. As November comes to a close, he heads into town to pick up supplies and ends up with a stowaway.
Bucky hasn't had much luck over the past seven years. Disaster caused his family to move from New York to Indiana, and his life has steadily fallen apart ever since. After one too many heartbreaks, he decides to hitch his way back to the last place he remembers being happy: Brooklyn. He's in the homestretch when he finds himself stranded in a half-empty tourist town in the Catskills and decides to take a chance crawling into the back of someone's truck.

Becca and Bucky have spent the last few years living in England as they finish up degrees in Anthropology/Archaeology and Historical Engineering respectively. Neither were able to find paying jobs in their chosen fields, and the end of their lease is looming close. London is expensive, and they begin to worry about where they could possibly live.
Then, an unknown Great Uncle dies suddenly, and names Bucky (by way of legal loophole) heir to the castle he lived in. In Germany.
And sure, it’s run down, they have barely any furniture, and it’s tucked away remotely in the mountains between Germany and the Czech Republic, but hey? Free house?
Bucky supposes the brush with death that made him able to see the ghosts of Captain America, Agent Carter and the Howling Commandos is just the price he has to pay for it.

Steve’s only known his life as a blacksmith apprentice in his small riverside town. But some people still speak stories of the times when fairies and elves lived among his people and the river ran wide through the middle of the forest, so far across you couldn’t see the other side. Now the river is a little trickle of a thing that barely accommodates small trade ships.
As one of the remaining high elves, Bucky's spent a lot of time studying history. It’s not like the old days, when their numbers spread out through the forest and down to the islands of the south, and they had a Kingdom to run. These days, the elders just sit around and quarrel about the best way to avoid humans and, given his luck, Bucky’ll be in one of those seats in a scant hundred years or so.
When a devastating natural disaster threatens everything they both know, Steve quickly learns that the old stories might be more important than he could ever imagine, and Bucky learns that the humans might not be the enemies he thought they were. In fact, they might realize that together, they’re capable of more than anyone could have dreamed of.
