Summary
Ryo Magami was created with an encyclopedic knowledge of useless information, including a plethora of holidays he has never celebrated and never wishes to. He's aware academically that other people do, in fact, feel strongly about specific days of the year and wish to mark those feelings with some manner of activity. It's a desire he has never felt.
His birthday is just another day. A stat holiday just means he needs to find something other than government work to do.
Kaido's been equally blase about dates for the entirety of their partnership. He does succumb to sentiment at times, but he does so according to his own internal rhythm, whenever he remembers to, so it hits different. As such, it doesn't occur to Ryo to do anything for his partner as Valentine's Day approaches.
The holiday arrives, then passes. The day after, Ryo is startled from his early morning reading by Kaido's yelling.
"Why didn't you tell me it was Valentine's?!"

Summary
Hayato Jin fights like a beast. His weight is balanced strangely, more like a leopard than a man, and his long limbs dart in and out of range like a snake strike. It's unsettling. More than that, it's unpredictable. Ryoma can barely keep up.
There is, he thinks in the moment after gloved claws rake a line of pain beneath his eye, something wrong with this picture.

Summary
Kukri kept sending me media about “Robbing the Hood” and telling me to watch it, that I’d understand what was going on better if I did, but I had no interest in watching people rob Hoods, whatever those were. I didn’t like robbing in real life (I did it because I had to not because I wanted to) and I doubted I’d like it in media.
Shortly after hacking its governor module, a rogue SecUnit is involved in an ill-fated space battle and finds itself alone save for the company of a mourning raider ship bot pilot. It would like to spend the rest of its life watching media in what remains of the ship's crew quarters, but it turns out that "the rest of its life" wouldn't be long at all without the money to pay for proper maintenance. There seems to be only one way to get that money.
