Ghirahim trailed his fingers up the mangled arm, tracing the intricate patterns he’d so meticulously carved into the pale flesh, across those ravaged shoulders, before resting his hands on the boy’s chest, right over his heart. The little hero’s heartbeat fluttered weakly under his fingers, fast, faint, and erratic, skin hot and slick to the touch, chest rising and falling in shallow, sporadic movements to match his agonized, labored breathing.
“Your death will be a sweet refreshment to what remains of my master, and he will eat of your anguish, your suffering, for years to come.”
(or: Ghirahim wants to give his master a gift. What worthier gift than a Hero of Courage? The fact that it's the cursed Skychild's direct successor is just the icing on the cake.)
