I was rewatching S2E10 and was laughing about TK's line to his dad about Carlos being "handy" and I thought, that had to have come from somewhere and not just said by TK as a smartass remark. (but probably that too! lol)
This takes place between the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2.
Carlos really was a handy guy, TK wasn't lying to his dad. Growing up on the Reyes ranch, Carlos learned how to fix or troubleshoot pretty much anything.
Times TK found Carlos to be handy.

Ilya pressed closer. “You fold their clothes,” he said roughly. “You skate with me. You carry our children and fight for them and I-” He broke off, swallowing. “There is no word in Russian. Not good enough.”
Shane turned slowly in his arms. They were close now. Too close. But still not enough.
He reached up, cupped Ilya’s jaw with one hand. “You don't have to have a word,” he said. “You love me. I know.”
Ilya’s eyes darkened. “Yes. I am walked.
Shane grinned, amused and aroused in equal measure. “Oh yeah?”
“Yes. You… make me fetch oat milk. And remember recycling. And vacuum couch crumbs. I am the captain of National team, but in our home I am…” he shrugged, mock-suffering. “I am whipped. Like cream.”
Shane snorted this time, eyes bright in adoration to Ilya and his usage of new English slang. Shane reached for the hem of Ilya’s shirt and tugged him forward. His voice was light but knowing. “And yet you still think you’re the lucky one.”

“It’s not something we’ve discussed too much,” Shane admits reluctantly. “I mean, I think we talked about it once or twice, after being around Hayden’s kids. But…I was afraid…I don’t know if you want…” His sentence falters and he presses a hand to his stomach, inhaling slowly like he’s trying to soothe more nausea.
It takes Ilya’s brain a few moments to process, to catch up, to piece together this half-filled puzzle Shane’s laying out for him.
“We talked about having babies,” Ilya supplies, arching an eyebrow, “are you trying to say we are…having a baby?”
Shane sucks in another slow, controlled breath. “Um, yeah. That’s what I’m trying to say.”
“You are pregnant?”
Wincing, the shorter man nods. “Mhm.”
