    Summary

“I would like to introduce you to Geralt of Rivia. There was an infestation of cockatrices, and Geralt quickly dispatched them.” Margarette pivoted to the Witcher. “Geralt, this is my dearest friend, the Duchess of Lettenhove.”

Her observations of the Witcher thus far showed her a stoic man, self contained, with quiet words accompanied by barely perceptible changes in his facial expressions. But as his peculiar gaze locked on her, she noticed a perplexed look as he stared deeply into her striking blue eyes. As quickly as the expression had begun, he smoothed out his brow. “It is wonderful to meet you, Dutchess,” he said.
    ***
Annalise Pancratz, Duchess of Lettenhove attends a party celebrating a traveling Witcher and the renown bard, Jaskier. She desperately needs respite from the challenges in her life: a dour husband and an estranged son. Perhaps some good music and tales from a brave monster hunter will be what she needs to take her mind off of her troubles. But when she faces an unlikely danger, she realizes that this night may change her own future for the better.

    Summary

“They always were a little nuts over money. Thinking that being wealthy makes you respectable,” Harry says.

    ”They haven't changed,” Dudley snorts.

”So, honestly, I really just want to tell your mum to go to hell, no offense.”

    “None taken.”

”But, I want to know what’s in that safe deposit box. I have so little of my parents it would be worth playing their games to get access to it. And I think I could. You know, my fiancée is wealthy… very wealthy. They’re more loaded than the GDP of several European countries.”

Dudley’s eyes widen. ”Well, that might just equal respectability in my parents’ eyes. What are you thinking?”

”Maybe inviting them to the Manor.”
    ***
Dudley Dursley is a changed man. Recognizing the abuse his cousin faced in their home growing up, he became a teacher to ensure that something similar wouldn’t happen to other children. Discovering that his mum is withholding property from Harry, he has to find a way to set things right. Now, with an invitation for the family to a remote manor to meet Harry and his mysterious fiancée, will he be able to negotiate a truce and show his parents just how wrong they were? A story about redemption and the family you choose.

    Summary

”Beverly Marsh - the fashion designer?”

“Yeah! That Bev. And Ben Hanscom, we can try him too. I don’t know the name of his firm, but it would be easy to google. Recently they built that BBC tower…” Eddie freezes, eyes widening as he stares directly at Dr. Jackson.

”Holy shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?” He sends her a defeated expression. “You don’t believe me at all. You think I made up some weird parasocial relationship with a bunch of random celebrities.”

She clears her throat. “You don’t sound crazy, Eddie. I don’t use that word. I often see people who struggle, and these friendships sound like they’re very real to you.”

”They sound real to me,” he parrots. “What a nice way to say they’re all in my head.”
    ***
Eddie comes home from Derry a different man, ready to make a clean break from his old life. He’s always been direct, so he tells Myra about recent events, so that she can understand why things have to change. Myra, however, isn’t about to let him go so easily. Now facing a psychiatric commitment, how can Eddie prove his competency, when everything that has happened to him recently is literally straight out of a horror novel? A story about living your truth.. mostly.

    Summary

Matthew laughs, a crowing, gleeful sound. “You got it, friend. But, true lucid dreaming is something only the boss of this place can make happen.”

Hob nods. ”Oh well. It’s been fun to learn about.”

”Why did you decide to try to learn more about your dreams?”

“It was my friend. He told me he would meet me in his dreams, and I guess I took that literally?”

Matthew snorts. “Your friend? I mean, they were obviously flirting with you, my man, because that sounds like a come on in every sense of the world,” Matthew says with what would be a smile, if he had lips.

    ***
After an off handed comment from his Stranger, Hob decides to learn to lucid dream. He dreams up a pub, and imagines some very strange customers: a talking Raven, a Pumpkin headed man, and a beautiful winged woman. Acting as bartender, he advises his dream friends about how to cheer up their boss, while they also advise him on how to approach his oldest friend, who he just might be in love with. But when the king of the dream realm decides to visit this peculiar institution, Hob might be in for more than he ever dreamed of…

    Summary

”Ah, trying to avoid being a demon magnet, Crystal?” Edwin asks primly.

To her credit, she doesn’t bite. “Yeah, Edwin. Actually I am. There are a few experts here in London who can do some powerful warding magic. Why are we worried about this?”

Charles decides to take over. Even though Edwin and Crystal are starting to evolve in their friendship, his best friend can still be very territorial about cases.

”So, Kian’s professor here was always a real good guy, but the Inn he owns is warded against literally everything, and they’re worried about him, right mate?”

”Yeah, you got it. I have unfinished business he can help with, but only if he’s safe. Dr. G really helped me when I came out as non-binary. He’s an ally. And well, I just want him to be okay. I mean ordinary people don’t get caught up in this supernatural stuff do they?”

”They do at times, and often it is indeed a problem. I am glad you brought this to us.” Edwin looks to Charles who nods. “The Dead Boy Detectives are glad to take on your case.”

**Charles and Edwin take on a case where they will need to confront a whole new realm of the supernatural in London, while also navigating their feelings for each other. Complete.

    Summary

The Stranger hesitates, and does something Hob would not have believed possible. He stammers. “I- I do not remember. I came to and was being pursued.”

Hob notices the older man approaching, but is shocked as his voice rings out, addressing them both, “My dear boy, I am so glad we have found you.” He observes the situation warily; the only reaction from his friend is subtle, the smallest recoil.

“Who exactly are you?” Hob asks the man.

“Why, I’m Paul McGuire, and I can’t thank you enough,” the man looks at Hob’s ID badge, “Dr. Gadling, for finding my nephew.”

Hob’s eyes narrow, as he flatly asks, “Your nephew?”

    ***

Hob’s life is forever changed when his Stranger literally stumbles back into his life, amnestic and hunted, and he must use the skills gathered over an immortal life to evade their pursuers. They soon realize that bits of memory are coming back to Hob’s Stranger, through the power of literature. They are slower, however, to recognize that the most important story to explore may be their own.

A love letter to books, libraries, and the stories that make us, and allow us to change for the better.

    Summary

Next, Shani moved to check his eyes and pupils. A lot of diagnostic findings could be determined by their level of dilation and whether they reacted to the light. She pulled the left eyelid up and her breath was suddenly and completely taken away. “What the hell,” she spat out, as she was greeted with a yellow orbit with a slit pupil, much like a cat’s, in this otherwise human face. She stumbled back a few steps, and worked at catching her breath. And then suddenly it all made sense: the gore, the immense stature, the apparent strength. The man in front of her was a Witcher, harmed in the line of duty. Not enough Witchers were left to regularly come across them, and Cryptid 101 wasn’t exactly in her medical curriculum.

    ***
Shani is having an ordinary, though exhausting, day at the clinic, contemplating her future as she approaches the end of her medical training. When a wounded Witcher is dropped at her doorstep, she needs to use all of her ingenuity to help the man, but becomes quickly suspicious when she finds him in possession of a lute, specifically her friend Jaskier’s lute. As is par for the course, she might make a few erroneous guesses…

“Okay, okay. Then, how about this one. He took you with him shopping for a Christmas tree. He only bought a small one, but I saw the look on your face when he hefted it over his shoulder and it was, um… It was something. Then you made it snow in the most pretty and gentle way on the way home and brushed the snowflakes from his eyelashes.”

“I doubt that I made it snow Matthew.”

“Uh yeah, you did. I was behind you both, and it was like snowing in a six foot radius around you two and nowhere else. Now, I’m no meteorologist, but I don’t think that is an earthly weather phenomenon, boss.”

    “Hmm.”

    ***

Dream is invited to Hob’s department holiday party. Thank goodness Matthew is there to tell him what being a plus-one means, as well to help him realize that unbeknownst to either of them, they seem to have been going on a myriad of Hallmark movie style dates. With a new ending to their story in mind, Dream heads to the soirée, but when the narrative presents an opportunity to save Hob from an awful outcome in the date auction, while also revealing his feelings, will he get his movie-perfect ending?

    Summary

Johanna stands there, sleep rumpled, smelling vaguely of ale, still fully dressed, and incongruously wearing a trench coat. Her eyes widen as she gets a better look at the blond vampire at her door. “Get in here Gadling,” she hisses, as she further shoves Hob behind her, blocking his body with her own, and staring down Spike.

In this moment, Hob knows more than ever that Spike is his kind of people, as instead of getting serious, a smile spreads wider and wider on his face in utter delight at Constantine’s reaction.

***Hob’s life has become quite interesting. Not only is he newly romantically involved with Dream, but he has made some unlikely friends, including the vampire Spike, who is in town scoping out a nest of vampires who are dabbling in the occult. But when a simple mission ends up being more than they counted on, they must seek out the support of Johanna Constantine to exorcize a dangerous demon. And what about the grimoire that is being used, a book which holds a spell strong enough to bind an Endless…

They turned to how Pankratz even thought of himself as Valdo’s rival. The other man was no rival at all to him. The mere suggestion was a travesty.

Valdo was almost to the mouth of the alley when he felt movement behind him. He was entirely unprepared for his body to be slammed forcefully to the wall beside him. He managed to get out a small shout before a cold, long-fingered hand covered his mouth. Valdo’s eyes opened wide, but could only take in a terrifying visage, a mouth with long sharp teeth that filled his vision entirely.

    Summary

Aiden quickly assessed that the man on the horse was not a threat, and without hearing any other signs of life following, he rushed to the man’s side. The horse came toward him and nosed his hand, as though looking for assistance with her rider. Aiden put his hand on the horse’s muzzle and rested his arm on the man’s leg, shaking and calling softly as not to startle him. The man groaned, and his eyes flickered open. He looked startled, but then cast his eyes down at Aiden’s medallion and stilled. Aiden wasn’t even sure why he still wore it after his betrayal, but something about its presence seemed to calm the man, who started to slowly shake his head as if to clear his thoughts.

    “Are you alright?” Aiden asked.

“Mmmm, no, we’re in trouble…” is all the man got out before he slumped forward onto the horse again.

    ***

Aiden has been betrayed and left for dead. He decides to travel to the stronghold of Kaer Morhen to seek out his closest friend, Lambert. Unaware of the location of the keep, he travels through the Blue Mountains, encountering an unconscious man on a horse. He realizes the man had been traveling with a Witcher, and that something dire has befallen the pair.

    Summary

As he nears he is pleased to see Hob standing outside, in front of the Inn. Upon closer examination however, it would be more specific to say that Hob is standing in front of an ancient black Bentley, that is parked in front of the New Inn, while twirling the keys and smirking in Dream’s general direction. Dream feels himself light up from within. On the outside, this manifests as the slightest twinge of a smile.

“Dream my friend! This is fantastic timing, duck. Care for a drive?”

Dream’s eyes narrow. “What is that monstrosity?”

    ***
Dream is finally settling into the new century, with the help of his dearest friend. As he tries to re-engage with humanity, he is also realizing that his feelings for Hob Gadling might run a bit deeper. These feelings come to a head during a road trip in which an apparently bewitched car radio keeps playing the most apt songs, each of which seems to somehow feature dreams, nightmares, and hidden feelings quite prominently.

The blue eyed man shook his head, still weaving a bit with inebriation. “You know I can’t Essi. I have a bit of a captive audience back in my rooms, and I have big plans for him.”

“You know he’s not going anywhere. Stay a while. He will be right where you put him when you get back. You know he has no escape from you, my dear.”

Vesemir had no idea how the professor ahead of him had captured Geralt.

Still, he needs to access texts in the library so he pushes on. He sees Geralt’s horse Roach when he enters the city, and looks forward to seeing the man on the path. However, as evening draws near, Vesemir has been unable to locate any sign of Geralt, until he notices his scent clinging to a young professor. Summary

Eskel caught another bit of movement in the field and saw a brown horse grazing near the man. The horse was handsome and well cared for with a white star on its forehead. He drew in his breath quickly and studied the scene carefully. That horse looked very much like Roach, Geralt’s mount. As a matter of fact, it looked exactly like Roach if he was honest with himself

Eskel’s heart started to sink towards his stomach. He could only think of one reason that a strange man could have Roach, and that Roach would be allowing him to care for her. He tried to push away the thought, but with each moment Eskel became more and more sure of the terrible truth.

    ***

When Eskel comes across a strange man sitting comfortably with Roach, he knows that his greatest fear has come true. His brother Geralt would never give up his horse, and with Roach accepting this new owner it can only mean one thing, that Geralt has fallen on the path. Mourning his brother’s death, he knows he needs to speak to the man to find out what happened, but of course, things end up getting complicated, and Eskel is in for the surprise of his life.

Geralt’s eyes meet Jaskier’s and he gives his head a small shake.

“So, it is a bit of music lore. If you haven’t heard it, it probably does not have a place in reality. The story is that if you find yourself at a lonely crossroads at midnight, perchance you may meet the devil.”

Geralt hums. “Sounds like a fairy tale.”

Jaskier continues, “Of course, I agree. The tale often goes on to include a fiddle player who enters into a contest with the devil for his very soul. It is a slightly obscure tale, and there is a ballad that is even more obscure. Someone asked me to play it tonight. It…. Well, it gave me the creeps to be honest.”

***Geralt is hired for a very unsettling contract. Travelers in a town near a crossroads are disappearing, only to be found mauled. As he and Jaskier try to discover what type of beast could have beset the town, they are pulled further into danger. To defeat this creature they need more than swords; they also need to discover truths about themselves and their hidden strengths, fears, and regrets.

Just in time for spooky season :) Scares are mostly psychological, any violence is canon type
