Distantly, Gurathin remembered the union snipers on the upper floors, the drone clouds they'd all coded in case of emergency. The dull ache of his body, sharper on the side of his head, was fighting the painkillers he'd gotten loaded on beforehand. His feed was a panorama of warnings and the empty boxes of blocked ads.
He was cannon fodder with no actual conviction, an indentured systems engineer with expensive augments. The SecUnit advancing over his sprawled shape hadn't come for him - Not really.

Mensah and SecUnit weren’t the only people in the room with him; there was Ratthi, Pin-Lee, Arada, Overse and… himself? Gurathin stared at himself, who stared right back at him.
After escaping his death, Gurathin finds himself in the past, hours after the attack on Bharadwaj and Volescu, with no idea how or why he was there. In the shows he has watched, with SecUnit messing with the past always came with catastrophic consequences, so knowing about GrayCris, DeltFall, and the command override module, Gurathin must decide what he should do. Tell them everything or keep it to himself as he fights to get back to the future he knows.

Summary
About a year after the events of Artificial Condition, Murderbot discovers the ComfortUnit it freed on RaviHyral was almost immediately recaptured, presumably regoverned, and auctioned off. Murderbot has regrets on how it handled freeing the unit and certainly didn't want it captured, so it launches a mission to rescue it. It is assisted in this by Gurathin, who has his own issues regarding ComfortUnits he needs to get over.
Will Murderbot finally discover the real consequences of killing Tlacey? Will it get over its prejudices about sexbots and sex work? Will the mysteries of what it did at Ganaka Pit be revealed?

But when he was laying there in the hospital, he would dream of the stories his brother told him about Pandora. He'd have these recurring dreams of flying, feeling free. He wanted to feel that freedom again, and the Avatar Program could provide that.
It's why when he arrived on the indigenous moon he wasn't looking to be some counterspy for Colonel Miles Quaritch, and he certainly wasn't looking for a permanent place among the Na'vi. Jake only wanted to be free. He just never expected his training with the Omaticaya hunter Tsu'tey to alter the course of what he desired.
