It made sense, then, for someone to seek out Cloud for some help with the initiation questions. As the one dating Sephiroth, Cloud knew a lot of inside information about the First, so he would probably be able to get anyone in.
It was the perfect plan.

After a livestream one night, Cloud found himself receiving an offer from one of his favourites that seemed almost too good to be true, though Cloud would soon find out that this offer would lead to a night beyond his wildest dreams…

The staff at the Gold Saucer had been nothing but kind and helped Cid get drunk in under four drinks, a record for him if he had to be honest. He wasn't black out drunk, no, not by any means. But he was drunk. Drunk enough that when Cloud had swung by to check on him and Vincent he couldn't keep his damn hands to himself. Drunk enough that he pulled the blonde into his lap and kept him there. Drunk enough to offer a spot between two warm bodies for the night if he wanted.
And God was he glad Cloud jumped at the opportunity.

Grief and suffering in the long destroyed streets of a broken down city. During Cloud and Sephiroths battle, Gaia decided to take her golden champion back in time, back when he was a Cadet with his knowledge and memories of the future. Cloud, who isn’t given much of a choice accepts, at least this time his loved ones would likely have a better life, no deaths, no struggles, and most importantly, no more battling with the fear of their planet being destroyed.
