His wife turned to him. Her expression was serious yet imaginative. “I wish to fly, Aegon! I wish to ride Dreamfyre up through the snow, into the clouds, and above!”
“To touch the sun?”
“Yes! Oh, yes!” Helaena exclaimed. "Will you help me get there?”
A huge grin plastered his face, matching hers. He moved towards her. “On Sunfyre and Dreamfyre, we would rule the skies together!"
Both laughed with joy as Aegon picked her up and spun her around. The snowflakes whirled with them. The couple closed their eyes and imagined themselves taking to the air, away from the burdens and responsibilities of life on land. The sky was freedom. Dragons were freedom. Sunfyre was freedom.
When her feet finally found the ground, they kissed. He cupped her cheek.
“My love,” he whispered against her lips. “My sunspot.”

“Malfoy, look at me,” she said to him, firmly but gently.
He took a few more breaths and then looked at her.
“I need you to understand something,” she said, making sure they maintained eye contact. “I never blamed you for that night. There was nothing you could have done where it wouldn’t only put you, your parents, but Harry and the rest of us in more danger. You had no choice.”
Draco looked like he was about to protest but Hermione did not let him get a word in. Not until she was done.
“You had no choice,” she affirmed. “The only time you did have one, you chose not to reveal Harry to Bellatrix. You knew it was him in that drawing room and so did your mother. Ron and I were not even disguised…but neither of you said anything," Hermione’s voice remained steadfast. "What you did that night and yours and your mother’s actions during the Battle of Hogwarts is the reason Harry is alive today. And I will always be forever grateful to both of you for that.”
