Summary
The gate has been closed, Vecna defeated, and everything's looking up for the residents of Hawkins. Life is just starting to go back to normal (whatever that is) when strangers start appearing out of thin air. Quite literally falling from the sky in flashes of blue light.
Because of course the town can't go a year without something supernatural happening.
The Hargreeves have finally got a way out of the 60's, and are more than ready to return to a timeline where there's no impending doomsday breathing down their necks. Instead of landing back at the academy in the present day, they find themselves once again separated, this time in 1986.
Because of course they can't ever have a successful jump through time.

Said realization and subsequent breakdown comes at a horrible time. Not only is there that very important scarab mission to complete. The police also just managed to connect harmless gift-shopist Steven Grant to the wanted fugitive Marc Spector. Now if only they knew a lawyer that could help them out.
Matt Murdock just wanted to take a vacation in London with his good friend Foggy Nelson when he stumbles over a person he hasn't seen in 22 years. Him and Marc Spector used to be childhood friends for a brief but special year while they lived in Chicago. So when that same old friend suddenly begs him for help as they cross paths on a police station, there's no way he can say no. Both are shocked what became of the other - one blind and one suffering from obvious mental illness. Yet as they start to reconnect, long buried feelings start to grow again and blossom into something deeper and more passionate.

In universe 2003, Donnie tries to experiment with the inter dimensional gun the 1987 turtles had given him. Instead, he accidentally creates a multiversal chat room for many different versions of his brothers, and counting.

Tensions soar as their lives are turned upside down and the alternate turtles quickly realize how much darker and more dangerous this other New York truly is. The humans here are all on edge, and even the 2012 turtles can’t seem to loosen up. The Rise turtles try to bring in some fun but even they can't hold up the charade for long.

The first time they're separated it's by Dan, and it's relatively easy. Oh, it hurts. No doubt about that. But they'd only just bonded and that just barely on the surface level. Even with a perfect match it takes time and effort to make something that lasts, and while Venom had touched every cell in Eddie's body by that point it hadn't yet settled into his bones, let alone had Eddie reach back.
Getting half your brain, body, and soul torn out sucks, and it gets worse the longer Eddie and V are together.

Primus, it seemed, had seen a chance to get a new, better Prime to serve his children in the explosive assassination of his unchosen Prime. There was Civil War to avert, and nothing short of the most optimal Prime would do.
The Matrix was a mysterious artifact for a reason. It also never was as powerful as when the very fate of Cybertron hung in the balance. Poised on the edge of the destruction of Cybertronian Civilisation, as it was then, as it had been back during the Quintesson Invasion, the Vessel of Primus could do miracles.
