Something was… off, with his class.
Aizawa’s eyes narrowed.
They weren’t fighting (more than usual). He couldn’t find the tell-tale signs of someone hiding an injury. There was no student missing (he had already made three headcounts, triple checking none of them were clones, or robots, or a double in disguise). No one seemed to be holding back tears, not even Midoriya.
They were the perfect picture of regular high school students, or as much as they could be while running a mock-rescue exercise. Working in teams as ordered, with the usual squabbles but nothing… out of the ordinary.
It was too peaceful. Too perfect. The kind of class he’d dreamed to have ever since their first villain attack, that would apparently set the tone for the rest of 1-A’s year.
So why did he feel like his students were up to something?

Alex looks even more unsure of himself, looking around as if searching for help. Morgan can see, over his shoulder, the car parked just in front of his door. The Secretary is probably there, waiting, so why did the mob boss brave the dangers of customer service alone?
“Is this a ‘my condolences’ or a ‘this is a message’ occasion?” he prompts, feeling a little sorry for the guy. He’s obviously awkward in interactions where he’s not barking orders or threatening people.
(Not that I’d be opposed to being bossed around or grabbed by the neck by him, a traitorous part of himself whispers. He’s quick to wave the thought away. He knows when he has no shot.)

Honestly. What did Bruce even think would happen? He should have known better.
Tim wasn’t Dick, indoctrinated from a young age to be a good, somewhat (when convenient) obedient son. Tim only went along with Bruce’s shit because, more often than not, it aligned with what he himself wanted. He also wasn’t Damian, so easily manipulable when one knew which buttons to push. And he certainly wasn’t Jason, who would sink his own ship to kill the captain.

Much like its color, the flag raised by its presence meant urgency. Damian’s fingers twitched.

He’d look down at them at night, or when his parent’s leaving made him want to cry, or when a horror story told by a classmate in the playground scared him half to death, and find comfort in their silky touch and bright hues.
He was seven when he learned the meaning behind them. And the blaring lack of red signaled the first, but not last, heartbreak of his life.
Blue, green, purple, black… and bright yellow. A teacher, a missed opportunity, a first love, life and death… and friendship. No eternal love for Tim, it seemed.
Well. He hadn’t really expected any different. Who would love him forever, when his own parents didn’t?

Miya slurped his smoothie, sitting in the shadow of the Kyan’s porch right next to a bowl of fruit. He watched in contemplative silence as Reki tried a few easy tricks, wobbling a bit but never actually falling.
“You know, your legs are getting the workout of their lives”, he noted. “Also, you’ll probably be ready to do some easy runs on S by the time Langa is back.”
“That’s the idea”, replied the other, skating closer and snatching a piece of apple as he went. Miya had to admire his balance, because holy fuck.

Summary
It was something like an open secret in Gotham, that even though all it’s heroes were open to help no matter the situation, each one of them had a special affinity to certain matters.
For example, children from all districts knew to yell for Nightwing if they found themselves lost and scared. Small business owners often painted little Oracle symbols on their doorsteps, to warn away possible thieves with the knowledge that Gotham’s cryptic hacker had their eye on them. Working girls would send a quick prayer to the Red Hood before seeing their seediest clients; and as such, knew who to call for if things took a turn for the worst.
And Red Robin… well. His was a very specific bunch.

Robin turns to look at him so fast it almost looks like his neck broke. Beast boy screams, turns into a rabbit and jumps into Raven’s arms, because the sound that came from Rob’s mouth wasn’t human at all.
“If any of you call Batman, I’ll personally ensure living hell for everyone in the Team. This is MY case!”
Wally hastily retreats, hands up in a surrender gesture.
“Okay, okay! I’m just saying, chill. This Red X dude has been giving us all too much trouble, maybe Bats could point us in the right direction or…”
They think Dick said ‘no’, but it was more of a demonic screeching.
“But we’ll respect your wishes! Because you are our friend!”, and you scare us shitless, he added in his mind.
