“Apparently they’re scared of you,” Maki said, licking the sauce off her fingers. Yuuta turned his head, rice ball falling out of his hand. “Not that the first year crowd is really scared of anything, but they certainly aren’t lining up to be your friend.”
“Scared?” Yuuta asked, incredulously pointing to himself. “Of me?”
“Why’s it so hard to believe?” Panda asked, pretending to slick his hair back. “You’re the one who came back all ‘I will kill Itadori Yuji myself.’”
“Shake,” Inumaki nodded.
“I was bluffing, clearly,” he said, a blush rising on his neck. “It was part of the plan!”
Maki tsked, rolling her eyes. “I can’t believe you’re a special grade,” she said. “Those idiots didn’t get to see you shaking and mumbling Rika-chan, Rika-chan in first year.”
“Yes!” Panda said snapping. “Before he got his scary dog privileges.”
“S- Scary dog?!” Yuuta spluttered at the slander.

But the shackles tugged harshly at his wrists with every longing glance he spared towards the delectable looking snack. The chains clanked together loudly in his mind in a miserable cacophony that reminded him that he couldn’t be happy, and it didn’t matter what he did. He would always be bound by self hatred, always bound by the notion that any and all joys and comforts that surrounded food were unwarranted wherever he was concerned.
5 times Yuuta refused food, and the 1 time he finally accepted it and the help that came along with it.

Summary
Returning only to sit under watch in Gojo’s office, unencumbered by psychologists and prying nurses, feels as disobedient as a prison break. He should be getting institutionalized right now, and he’s not sure if this is more or less humiliating.
Yuta sniffs. The urge to cry is prickling under his eyes again. He grits his teeth. He’s done more than enough of that. He probably could’ve filled a decent-sized lake over the past few years…
“Hungry?” Gojo asks suddenly.
Yuta turns to him as he takes a shaky breath. “Not really…” He hasn’t had an appetite in a while. The hospital was pretty concerned, having some therapist come in to do an eating disorder questionnaire. Gojo waved her out when it was clear Yuta wasn’t in the mood though… He’s not trying to starve himself, but it wouldn’t be a problem if he did. Just the thought of nourishing himself in any way with all the strife he’s caused makes him sick.
