Alastor grips him with his legs before he can slink off to lick his wounds. “You’re not going anywhere,” he declares, gathering some shadows to back him up in case Vox makes a break for it. “It’s taken us 70 years to get here, and now you’re going to do the job right. You’ve wasted enough of my time.”
There’s a change in Vox’s posture, a sort of ease in the lines of his body as his breath quickens. Alastor feels the corners of his lips curling. He’ll sculpt something from this clay yet.

And this time, no one is eavesdropping on those sounds, because the one who used to listen is now the one making Bruce fall apart like this.

The flush that blooms across Kent's cheeks is delicious. His laugh is quiet, warm, disarmingly human for a man who could bench-press a freight train.
"No. I'm… single. Broke up a few months ago and since then I've kind of been… you know."
The softness in Kent's tone coaxes a quiet smile from Bruce. He almost feels guilty for offering something so filthy and impulsive. Almost. But Kent's pupils are already wide, dark with interest. His body betrays whatever hesitation might still live in his mind.
"Must get lonely," Bruce whispers, his mouth brushing close to Kent's ear.
(Or, Bruce is undercover when he crosses paths with Clark Kent. Sleeping with him wasn't exactly part of the mission… but honestly, have you seen those dimples?)

Although he’d heard it many times, there was something about this particular growl that was different from all of the snarls he’d received from Logan in the past. It was softer, a gentle rolling. It didn’t hold the usual overflow of rage. Wade slowly let his arm lower. Logan didn’t react.
And then, it happened again. A little bit longer this time. An inhale, and then that low grumble on the exhale. Wade began to retract his arm, and it happened a third time. He was almost free when it hit him.
That wasn’t growling. For once in his life, Logan wasn’t angry.
It was purring.
