He had been having a perfectly pleasant morning, enjoying his tea on his one weekend off, sitting up on the hill that separated him from the rest of the village.
Having gotten a good night of sleep, the kind that rests in your chest even after you’ve waken up, lingering in the lightness of your feet and the quickness of your movements, he was quite relaxed, and he didn’t even have a stray chicken come in from the coop that was barely strong enough to hold itself together through a few harsh rainstorms.
It was, by far, the most peaceful morning that Alhaitham had had the pleasure of living through in a long time.
So, of course, there had to be a major upset to balance out the truckload of good luck that had been it’s predecessor.
For example, the man currently sitting outside in the wreckage of his chicken coop, violently snarling while holding a sword bigger than Alhaitham.
