“You ever play with dolls as a kid?” Eddie asks, doesn’t know why.
Steve glances at him before turning back to the task at hand. He lifts Eddie’s arm, no use in asking, it’s faster if he just does it, and wraps the bandages around his side. The gauze reeks of laundry detergent and even though Eddie knows it shouldn’t be off-white, he doesn’t comment on any of it. Beggars and choosers, all that shit. Their ritual smells like lavender and copper.
“Not really,” Steve says. Calm and focused like his hands aren’t trembling. “Why?”
“’Cause I kinda feel like one.”

Summary
Steve gets high in the back of Eddie Munson's van. His back hurts. His head hurts. His first love called him bullshit.
He doesn't know why he thought this was a good idea. Can't even remember how he got here.
All he can think is how good Eddie's van would be for puppies. Two velvety blue bench seats behind the driver's and passenger's seats, with enough room between the second bench and the back panel doors for Eddie's nest.
It's just a small round bed walled in by pillows and old leather, but Steve's eyes burn every time he looks at it.
He and Eddie are nowhere near close enough for him to, like, clamber inside and curl down, though. Why would he even want that? Stupid.

Steve sobbing into Hopper's neck scenting of stress and anxiety and so very very miserable all the time.
It was time for Hopper to step up and be the alpha Steve needed him to be. He was going to put his foot down and show Steve there was a much better way of living, naked, collared and treated like the precious omega he was.NB- Each chapter can be read as separate oneshots. There is a simple plot that strings them all along but are more like a slice of life scene, so if you aren't a fan of WIPs this is still a safe space!

Summary
Chief Hopper looks haggard when he shuffles into the foyer, and Steve can see why: he, too, would be exhausted if he was dragging around a feral, handcuffed omega who seems to hate him and everything he stands for. “You said witness, Chief,” Steve says, staring at the two. “Not a criminal.” He’s never seen an omega in a muzzle before—he thought those were only reserved for unmated alphas in rut, but maybe being feral isn’t that much different.
“He is a witness,” Chief bites out, adjusting the way his big heavy coat lays over the omega’s shoulders with a care that seems out of place. Even if the chief is an alpha, Steve wouldn’t expect him to be the type to be affected by omega distress pheromones. And yet, here they are. “Now, you got a kitchen or what?”

Eddie gaped. That was Steve’s voice, but it also wasn’t. It had a cruel, mocking quality that didn’t fit Harrington. Not the version Eddie was starting to get to know.
“I saw everything that happened in his bedroom back there. Do you really think pretty boy is interested in you like that? I mean, even if he does swing that way occasionally, freak meat isn’t what he goes for.” Not-Steve laughed, and that sounded wrong too. Overly theatrical and biting.
It didn’t stop Eddie from turning a deep red. Mortified at being outed so casually, angry at being spied on by a fucking Upside Down wizard. At least he wasn’t scared anymore. “Who the fuck are you? Vecna? Get out of Steve!”
Outside, an owl hooted—the who, who, whooo, taunted Eddie in a way that was too coincidental.

Becoming friends with Steve Harrington goes against every tenet of the Munson Doctrine, but before Eddie can really get to know this new and exciting version of King Steve, he comes face to face with what’s lurking under Starcourt Mall. And emerges from the experience a lot smaller. And furrier.
Steve Harrington has resigned himself to his fate as a babysitter to a group of middle schoolers, but when he comes across a tiny bat with a wonky wing he’s not so sure if he wants to offer up his caregiving services to the furry creature, especially not when Robin insists that it probably, maybe, definitely has rabies. Steve finds himself quickly charmed by the little thing, especially when it looks at him so intently with those brown eyes that seem weirdly familiar.Of course, in Hawkins, it would be weirder if there wasn't something extra-dimensional going on.

Steve's the last one from the old monster-fighting days still stuck in Hawkins, and it's going... fine. It's fine. Sure, he's a little lonely and sure he's bored out of his skull most days, but it could be worse. He's got his apartment full of plants, and his cat, and his job at Family Video. He still talks to Robin once a week on the phone.
The thing is, Steve's known he's bisexual for a few years now, but he can't explore it in Hawkins. What little experience he does have is split between shadowy encounters in gay bars in Indianapolis and text-based flirtation with guys he meets online (as it turns out, people who hang out in plant care forums tend to be queer af).
He might have coasted along like that for the rest of his life, quietly queer and perpetually just short of fulfillment, if a familiar face hadn't shown up at the bar one night. When Eddie Munson comes back to town, Steve finds himself spoiled for choice. He's been talking to a guy online, building a connection that's based on more than just lewd instant messages, but will his rekindled crush on Eddie overshadow that? Who will he choose: the suave rockstar, or the dorky plant newb he's never even met in person?
