ummm im not good at summaries. universe where the social hierarchy is determined by the type of wings someone has. scaled wings(dragons) are the rulers, furred wings(bats) are the rich and upper middle class, and feathered wings(birds) are the middle and lower classes.
the main character, Vee, is a prince who has fallen in love with Ivan, a feathered servant to the king. unfortunately Vee is going to be wed to a princess in the interest of forming an alliance, and his sister will be shipped off with her husband as well if they don't do something.
that something is run away.
they are trying to fly across the sea to a country without this hierarchy, to meet Vee's estranged brother and be who they truly are.

Never, in all his Spirals, had the Drifter ever found Humor. Maybe the Orokin author of his favorite "Tales of Duviri" storybook simply didn't appreciate the art of a good joke. Maybe he was, as Teshin often said with that wry smile, merely a sarcastic little shit.
For the first time in centuries, he smiled so broadly his cheeks hurt.
Maybe some of Mathila's mad happiness was rubbing off on him after all, because despite dying day after day in futile attempts to leave, now that he finally could, he wanted to stay and make his make-believe kingdom a better place.

Leo's in for a rude awakening when he gets hit by a mind-reading spell that reveals his family doesn't think of him as highly as he convinced himself they'd do. It's hard to accept.
Therefore he won't! Denial all the way!
(oh yeah, he also got hurt pretty bad during spell casting, but he's sure that's not important and won't have any effect on how his family treats and thinks about him at all.)

Haven't finished it yet but good vibes so far
Edit: it was good all the way through. The characters have life in them, the story line was compelling, and one of the scenes in chapter 3 (you'll know the one) inspired me to make a comic to illustrate it! Lovely, amazing, beautiful!!!
