"Your eye." Mike breathed out. He was so close to Will that his breath fanned on will's lips, causing goosebumps to spread down his chest. Mike's eyes trailed downwards to where Will cradled his injured fist, "your hand-! Will, what happened?"
Mike's hand replaced Will's own and gently cradled it, mindful of the injury it sustained not too long ago. It made Will's throat dry, his nervous swallow an embarrassing audible 'click'.
"Mike, I-" He trailed off, looking down at his vans, then back up into the beautiful, dangerous abyss that was Mike's eyes. He swallowed around a painfully dry throat once more, "...I think something's wrong with me."

"Why are we staring at Max?" Jane questioned from next to Lucas, watching the girl slam the door open angrily with one hand, the other holding a skateboard.
"Because she's none other than MadMax, Jane." Dustin grinned towards Jane. Jane blinked in confusion, why was this girl so... important to them? Her confusion was soon melted away by the fact that she noticed teeth in the usually vacant space in the middle of his teeth. She uncrossed her arms and poked her thumb at the small teeth that grew through over the summer, "teeth...? You have teeth."
"You bet I do." Dustin smirked, before turning back to the arcade entrance, "Bet I can bag the legendary MadMax with these precious pearls?" He growled strangely - but that wasn't what Jane was feeling off about. It was the fact that they were so focused on this 'mad max'.
She felt bitter, and she didn't know why.

Spider was used to the...well, bullying. That was the only word that could be used to describe the snide remarks and ugly looks the other teenagers of Awa'atlu sent his way. It wasn't anything he couldn't handle, he'd heard it all before, and the looks Neytiri would send his way sometimes were far more terrifying than anything these Metkayina could offer.
But this? Accusing him of something so downright disgusting? This was too far.

Mike (idiot that he is) still doesn't know what this unnameable thing is, but what he does know is that it's always been there. Has always been inside of him, has always swirled within the depths of his chest, and has always tried to make itself known whenever he was (and is) in the presence of Will Byers.
But seeing Will in this new light was the equivalent of being whacked across the head with a baseball bat. A baseball bat built solely to amplify any and all already present feelings, making them impossible to ignore. Suddenly, the thing inside him wasn’t quiet anymore. No, it was (and is) loud. Loud enough to override all the other thoughts that should be occupying his brain space right now, and loud enough that even he can’t shove it back into whatever mental closet he’d kept it in.
