Το παρόν έργο είναι αποκύημα φαντασίας(έως ένα βαθμό) και δεν αποτελεί ειλικρινή αναπαράσταση των δεδομένων της εποχής. Το μόνο που γνωρίζω για το Βυζάντιο είναι η Αγία Σοφία(συγκεκριμένα το σχέδιο κάτοψης και τους αρχιτέκτονες) και την ειδικότητα της Αυτοκράτειρας Θεοδώρας ως ιερόδουλη που ήταν πριν γίνει αυτοκράτειρα. Ghost arches a critical, amused brow just to watch MacTavish scowl. “Well, there’s your problem, sir. Maybe if you stopped fuckin’ women half your size you’d be gettin’ somewhere past the halfway mark.”
“And you’re suggestin’ what — that I find some girl and stick my prick up her arse?”
“It has to be a woman?”
MacTavish stares at him, struck silent. Ghost inches his knees apart and tries and fails to keep the smirk off his lips when his captain’s eyes drop. He watches as MacTavish’s throat bobs, swallowing heavily before he rasps, “I’m not gay, Riley.”
Ghost nods easily. He doesn’t spit the word, at least, doesn’t cringe away at the mere suggestion. Just a statement: he’s not gay, so he hasn’t considered asking a man. “‘S alright,” he grins, lilts his tone into something blithe and oblivious as he bends his knee, frames the bulge in his leggings just so — “More for me, I suppose.”

He had shut himself into his bedroom and avoided his fellow vessels for the past three days. The only time he leaves is late at night, sneaking into the sparsely stocked kitchen to soak some Weetabix in milk before he returns to his self-imposed isolation.
In all this time, none of the others had come to knock on his door, to ask about him, and the fact hurts more than he would like to admit, feeds that dormant something until it grows to fill his entire body. It confirms the fear that had dug its claws into his gut since he was a child.

No matter that they had woken up entangled, ii’s head on Vessel’s chest, breath ticklish and warm. No matter that the other had pressed a trail of kisses into his skin, up to his lips where they lingered for just a moment. No matter all the things the man had said the night before, his promises of adoration and a next time.
So yes, he is frustrated.

The problem was that the forest had fallen eerily silent just as he watched a tree trunk move.
All too late, he realized that it was not a tree, but a spindly leg that stretched high into the canopy. It was built of sinuous muscle that flexed with each heavy step. It shook the very earth as he looked high above the trees - and wished that he hadn’t.
He couldn’t even begin to describe what he was looking at. Its bones constantly popped in and out of place, as though the towering creature that kissed the clouds above hadn’t yet decided on the skin it settled itself within. It had a long, hairless snout with lips that peeled all the way back to reveal horselike teeth. Its lower jaw hung perpetually open, and snapped to and fro with each thunderous step it took. Black eyes the color of a starless sky looked out upon the encampment of arms dealers, and Soap could have prayed right then and there were he not so paralyzed in his seat.

Simon Riley died.
What crawled its way from his grave was less than human as it donned a man's skin in masquerading attire.
