“Excuse me? Sir?” Wylan spoke softly, but it was somehow enough to gain the man’s attention.
“Well, hello there, gorgeous,” the man said, leaning a hip against the wall they were standing by. Wylan could feel his cheeks reddening at the words, clearing his throat as the man continued. “What can I do for you?”
“Well,” Wylan started, fidgeting a bit with his fingers at his coat hem. His forehead was starting to get warm underneath his blue beanie and the press of his red hair underneath it, the white puffball on the top weighing down on him. “I couldn’t help but overhear you at the counter. I think we’re facing the same problem, you need to be in Ketterdam by tomorrow, yes?”

Above Wylan’s bony left ankle, metal gleams: a heavy iron manacle, welded to a long chain of links that snake behind him, clattering on the floor as he moves.
Jesper watches it, mouth open as everything he’d assumed shatters and comes back together in a new shape. “You’re a prisoner!” he blurts out.
Wylan twists sharply to look at him, face creased in a familiar aggravated scowl. “Are you an idiot?” he demands. “The locked door wasn’t a clue?”
There are new weapons appearing in the Barrel. Kaz sends Jesper undercover to find out where they’re coming from. Jesper finds something else entirely.

Jesper waited, holding the bouquet of carnations -purple and white ones, Wylan's favourite- in his hand, fidgeting with his phone, anxious and wondering if Wylan would indeed show up or tell him to meet up the next day.
His phone pinged.- Be there in a sec. -
Jesper blinked at the text, feeling the knot form in his stomach once more. What if it was all going to be terribly awkward? What if Wylan didn't really want to see him? What if their dynamic had completely changed? What if-
"Jes!"
Jesper whirled around to see Wylan exiting the building with the brightest grin on his face and waving like a madman. Jesper grinned, feeling the nerves dissolve into nothing because Wylan was here, and he loved Wylan and he would get to hold him again.

“You look really well,” Jesper says then, unable to help himself.
“I know,” Wylan says plainly, with a small shrug. “It’s classic me. Came to college and got pretty.”
Jesper laughs, although he’s not fully sure why. It just feels like such a Wylan response to give, whatever that could mean; a little self-deprecating, and also gesturing to the understanding—the knowledge—that they have of each other. Is it classic Wylan, to do this? Only Jesper would be able to tell. Only they could understand each other like this, even now.

Jesper and Wylan aren’t friends in school, but they certainly aren’t strangers, no matter how much they try to act like it. In university, their lives continue to weave in and out of one another’s, pushing and pulling each other through their insecurities, pasts, and other relationships. But they always seem to come back to this fact—they can never be strangers.

Summary
After walking along the roads of shops for a few minutes, Wylan can smell coffee. Plenty of coffee, too; it is far from a weak smell. He immediately sets out in search for the source of this scent, because why on earth are people drinking no small amount of caffeine at this time— it may be an area full of college kids, but, last Wylan checked, nobody drank a whole tanker full of coffee at twelve in the morning.
As he walks further down the streets in his search, he sees it; a cafe, clearly open from the lights on and a couple of baristas in uniforms inside. It definitely looks cozy, and it is quiet, which is to be expected at this time at night (–or is it technically morning? Does it even matter?)
Wylan has to now decide whether or not to satiate his curiousity, or to do the much more sensible thing and listen to his anxiety telling him that he should turn around and walk right back to his flat

Summary
Jesper grinned, letting his hand drop from the geldings neck. He rested his arm on the handle of his revolver, not missing the way Wylan tracked the movement with hungry eyes.
"I don't know 'bout that," he drawled, forcing Wylan's eyes too look back up at him, "why not save the horse and ride the cowboy instead?" He gestured at himself helpfully.
Wylan's eyes went dark, pushing off from where he was leaning against the stable door. "You're ridiculous," he muttered, grabbing hold of the lapels of Jesper’s chequered shirt.
He grinned, devilish, sharp, utterly delighted by the turn of events, before he found himself being manhandled onto an overturned feed trough.
Well. Fuck.
OR
Jesper's untimely robbery of some random house lands him with *far* more then expected.
The problem? Well there isn't one, not until he gets driven out of the town by angry debt collectors and the same person he tried to rob and instead ended up fucking is forced to go with him.
Now they have to meander their way through the Wild West, dodging bullets and old enemies and their inevitable feelings.

Wylan stared, baffled and confused at the same time. He searched Jesper's face for any trace of joke or mockery. There was none to find. "Why?"he breathed out, although he knew the answer.
Jesper didn't answer right away. His eyes were filled with words of promise and conviction, that he dared not say aloud. And maybe he felt it too. That strange pull, the indescribable familiarity towards each other, despite being only strangers. Maybe in another life..
But Wylan did not have the wings to fly. Trusting Jesper to pull him up, he'd only clip his wings.
"I'll weigh you down."Wylan said softly but sadly. He did want this. Alas, he wasn't sure he had the courage to unlock the cage and be free.Before Jesper could say something, Wylan pulled away with a shake of the head. "You're wasting your time. You don't know me, I don't know you. And we're worlds apart."
A flash of disappointment and something like hurt crossed Jesper's eyes. He didn't close the distance, simply gazing at Wylan with a bit of sorrow. "We don't have to be."
