Steve comes to Eddie's trailer with a very personal problem. Eddie listens, compassionate and judgment-free, and proposes a solution. Completely selflessly, of course; he just wants to reassure Steve that there's nothing wrong with him, or more accurately, his dick. Except for the fact that Eddie's been pathetically yearning for his friend for months now, and is always greedy for whatever scraps of Steve Harrington he can get, even breaking his own heart in the process.
“I think… it’s all just about your state of mind, Stevie. Maybe you just need a different approach. Where there’s no stress, no pressure, just someone focusing on… you. No stakes, no expectations, no judgment on how long it takes for you to… get to a finish line, or even whether you enter the race at all, so to speak. Just let yourself feel good.”

Summary
John “Soap” MacTavish is frozen under the weight of a singular glowing golden eye. Its vertical pupil dilates and contracts and Soap swears he can feel the physical weight of a touch skimming over his body as it trails up and down him, assessing. The touch feels as if a singular sharp claw is being dragged over his skin, holding him in place with the silent threat of evisceration should he so much as breathe.
So he doesn’t breathe, he doesn’t move, he can’t even bring himself to look away from that eye as he’s studied; as his fate is decided by the sleek, inky black creature standing just a few feet in front of him.
Soap’s skin feels as if it’s burning under the weight of that stare, but he’s finally able to take a breath in. He lets it out through his nose slowly, quietly, and is careful not to move as he tries to convince his body he isn’t in danger.
But he isn’t convinced. . . isn’t even close, and as he’s able to finally tear his gaze away from the one eye that he can see, he becomes almost sure that he is in danger.

The 'Alone' mission. You know the one. Soap gets shot in the arm by Graves before having to escape through Las Almas, Ghost purring in his ear like an overgrown cat, the two of them exchanging flirty banter. They get out safe, escaping to Alejandro's safe house. But Soap's arm is miraculously clean, as if nothing had happened. I put to you that Ghost cleaned it up for him and it awakened some Feelings.
Or: Four times that Ghost looks after Soap when he's injured, and one time Soap does the same for Ghost.

Summary
Ghost falls first; the moment Soap steps onto the tarmac and saves him a seat. Soap arguably falls harder, hitting every awkward branch on the way down. After several instances of walking in on Ghost in various states of undress, he can no longer deny his attraction- or Ghost's.
But they can't act on their feelings, or on their inner alpha and omega instincts. Or at least... they shouldn't.

Johnny leans forward partially at Ghost's prompting, a hand cupped against the nape of his neck, over the leather, that shifts in the same instance to push blunt fingers against his skull and force him the rest of the way. Like this, chin digging into his chest, the edge of the bite guard cutting into his throat, Johnny stares at his boots, the muck smeared across the edges, the laces. "The fuck's Tilly Dunnage?"
Ghost tugs the bite guard a notch further closed and Johnny gasps with no air left in his lungs. He's a big lad, fucking compact next to Ghost but for the rest of rank and file they're being sent out with, MacTavish is a tank.

Summary
Of course there's always the muscle and the beautiful eyes and the every other tiny thing that has kept Ghost strung along in the last year and a half since Soap first walked up and demanded to be allowed to try for the 141. That's a part of it, Ghost knows. The drive, the determination to be the best without even taking into account his natural advantages when shifted into…whatever it is he becomes. Soap has always been cagey about that. But Ghost has always been attracted to competence, and this insolent, insubordinate little shit is also probably the single most competent soldier Ghost has ever had the good luck to work with.
And then there's the fact Soap is a hybrid. A damned powerful one at that.

The predator in him can't deny the inherent thrill of having prey so close; the satisfaction of remaining undetected is a high he'll never get sick of. Though he's strictly human, Ghost is stealthier by far than any other Soap has met. It's probably why he's so pathetically infatuated with the man. He mentally shakes himself, returning to the mission at hand as he and Ghost both watch the men beneath them until they enter a door and are out of sight.
Then they move.
