In fact, the only time she feels capable of happiness is when she is elbow deep in dirt at the community garden, or making something with the harvest in her cramped apartment kitchen.
Ember and Shane get off to a bad start when she moves to her grandfather's dilapidated farm next to the ranch. It gets worse when she starts her new job at Joja Mart to cover living expenses, making them not only neighbors but co-workers. But even when tempers have flared and shit has very much hit the fan, these two fucked up people find themselves drawn together in a family they did not expect to find.
