Dustin takes the leap on an unassuming Monday afternoon in early May.
“You want me to– what?” Eddie’s voice squeaks a little on the final word.
“Kiss me,” Dustin says matter-of-factly, not bothering to hide the blush that has risen to his cheeks. “Look, I know you’re gay. I… think I might be, too. But I’m not sure. I need more data.”

Dustin asks Eddie to help him test two hypotheses:
Hypothesis 1: Dustin is gay. Hypothesis 2: Steve Harrington is gay.
Dustin thinks this may help him with his final (and most important) hypothesis: if both things are true, then maybe he has a chance after all.But Dustin may have forgotten some crucial variables. Namely, Steve’s feelings and his own. Emotional fallout ensues.
A story that takes place in a canon divergent world where Vecna never targets Hawkins after the events of Season 3. Events occur in May of Dustin's freshman year. Dustin is 15 and Steve is 19

So then I figured you’d probably want some company– and I figured we could watch a movie together, so I brought these!” And he held up a stack of rented VHS tapes. “Star Wars!”
“You’ve been doing a lot of figuring, Henderson,” Steve said, voice wry but not harsh. He was touched.

After the end of Season 2, Dustin convinces Steve to watch Star Wars with him. Their friendship only deepens from there. This is an exploration of the changing relationship between Dustin and Steve through the years as shown through eight films they watch (or attempt to watch) together. Spans the entire series, ending post season 5.

It starts small; a gadget here, a component there – tiny things, trinkets that simply happen to catch Dustin’s eye for whatever reason – and soon he’s got a growing collection taking over the surface of his desk.
It’s a nice collection, he decides. He sometimes finds himself fussing over it – rearranging the order of the items, grouping them in different clusters according to their material or size – and he’s always been a bit of a collector, especially when it comes to things he might be able to upcycle, so he doesn’t think too much of it at first – at least not until two months into his freshman year when he accidentally sets his bed on fire.

“Thanks for the beer, sweetheart,” Steve says to Dustin and then looks at Nancy. “Is that what you meant?”

I sent ART the edited file along with a snapshot of my recent haptic sensor logs, which mostly looked like [deleted] [deleted] [deleted].
ART took a moment to process that. Your difficulty with physical touch extends beyond merely touching or being touched by humans, it surmised.
I guess, yeah. I bristled at calling it a ‘difficulty’: it wasn't hard to touch things, I just didn't like doing it. But I had a system for dealing with that, so whatever, it wasn't an issue.
