Silence stretched out between them. Theriault looked at him like Shane was no better than a stain in his perfectly shined boots, his stare boring into him as if Theriault would be able to see inside his head and take out every secret he ever had out before it could ruin anything else.
“Then you don’t bring that shit to the ice, you do that, and we won’t have any problems.”
Shane wanted to scream. Thierault had no right to tell him about anything to do with his sexuality. Shane should be able to do with his partner what every other person in the league could and have done. Shane should be allowed to live his life and love his boyfriend in peace.
But he couldn’t do that. He wasn't brave enough to risk losing this.

“When I asked you to choose between me and hockey. That was not fair as well. I should not have asked you.” Ilya murmured against Shane’s ear, breaking the silence, pushing him to look up and lose himself in Ilya’s eyes again.
“I would choose you, Ilya. You have to know that I will always choose you.”
Shane knew it was the truth. Even if it would kill him to lose hockey, to lose the one thing he always knew was right about him. He would choose Ilya even if he would lose the one part of himself he never had to doubt.

“You’re flustering the poor boy, Eddie,” Hen adds. “And it’s making him dumb.”

“Wha- Buck isn’t flustered.”
Eddie is flustered. His face feels hot. He takes another sip of his coffee to give his hands something do to, but that only makes him feel warmer. Shit.
Hen levels him with the most deadpan look. “Last week he walked into a stop sign after you called him ‘big boy’ on a call.”
Eddie nearly spits out his coffee.
Or: the one where Eddie subconsciously flirts with Buck without realizing and Buck is actively trying not to have a heart attack at work about it
