Sanji slipped. Sanji never slipped, especially not when he was fighting side by side with Zoro, whom he always seemed to get paired off with whenever there was some sort of “big bad” that they needed to fight, so the fact that he slipped and missed his target not only made Zoro a little pissed…it also made him a little worried.

“Thank you for the tutorial.” Sanji leans in and inspects his cheek again. The bleeding has stopped; perfect. “I’ve spent plenty of time on the ocean.”
A hand plucks the straight razor out of his fingers. “Baratie sat in calm waters,” Zoro says over Sanji’s shoulder. “But we’re sailing into rougher seas than that.”
Sanji lets out a careful breath. It’s not cold in the small bathroom but he can feel the heat radiating off of Zoro, warm through the thin material of his undershirt. Sanji tosses on a smile and meets Zoro’s eyes in the mirror. “Are you offering to help?”
Zoro meets his gaze calmly, evenly. “Maybe I am.”
Sanji accepts a helping hand; after all if there's one thing he trusts Zoro with, it's how to wield a blade.

Sanji hums, drops his head onto Zoro's shoulder, and feels his own pain, feels Zoro's intake of breath. Sits there, kinda sleepy now, Usopp making snuffling noises horizonal on the other side of the table, and Zoro very warm under his cheek. Maybe he is too drunk, because his eyes are closing and his breathing is evening out, and the hurt isn't that much, anymore, can barely feel it at all.
“You little shit,” Zoro says eventually.
Sanji grins to himself, says more to Zoro’s neck, “You think?”

Another night. Zoro was starting to begrudgingly accept the fact that if the new cook got up in the night, he'd make the climb to the crowsnest, and there didn't seem to be much that Zoro could do about it. At least he got his snacks delivered.
Zoro likes taking the night watch. The new cook is a bad sleeper and seems set on disturbing Zoro's solitude. Zoro is annoyed, until he isn't, and each successive visit from the cook starts to change things between them.
